I’m not a huge fan of how the Beef Tallow Lip Balm tastes or smells, but as someone who suffers from persistently dry lips, I have to admit that my lips have been improving since I started using it. Other balms I’ve tried only work if I apply them multiple times a day, which I find too much of a chore. This lip balm, on the other hand, only needs to be applied once a day or after eating or drinking. It doesn’t wear off quickly on its own, making it incredibly convenient.
Additionally, the dispenser is a generous 0.5oz tube compared to the typical 0.15oz tubes of most lip balms, so I feel like I’ll be using this for a while. This makes it a great value buy. Despite the taste and smell, the long-lasting hydration and the large size of the tube make this a product I can recommend.

It smells kind of like a lemon bar pastry. Not even a hint of any animal product in the smell. It also keeps my lips feeling hydrated for a very long time. My medication causes severe dry mouth, so I drink lots of water which, of course, “washes off” the balm, so I still have to reapply every so often, but not nearly as much as regular stuff. I’ve tried aquaphor, Vaseline, Carmen, Burts bees, pure Shea butter, and all of them are no where near as good as this. Will only be buying tallow balm from now on! Ty to the makers of this stuff 🙂

This large sized lip balm is unique and made of tallow and beeswax. Most are small and thin balms, but this one is the size of a glue stick. The balm is really creamy, and I had thought “tallow” would be oily or at minimum strange and weird smelling. Instead, it has a very pleasant scent, emollient and not greasy or oily at all. Instead, it is very moisturizing, and It lasts hours on my lips, and leaves my skin soft. I much prefer this larger size.

This is not your normal lip balm, it is in a much larger tube first of all. It’s 0.5 oz vice 0.15 oz for a normal size tube, so it’s equivalent to over 3 tubes of the normal sized lip balm. They also only list 4 ingredients: Pure Beef Tallow, Beeswax, Raw Honey, Lemon Scent. I like it when I can actually pronounce all the ingredients, vice all the chemical names. Plus it’s handcrafted in the USA. The tube comes in a box and the lid of the tube has the standard sticker over it that must be broken to open the tube. I’m glad they have this safety feature. The larger tube acts just like its smaller counterparts, with the cap and twist up feature. Another big difference is the product is much larger when it comes out of the tube (larger diameter) and I only have to perform one swipe across the top and bottom lips, vice the back and forth with the smaller tubes. There is just a hint of lemon aroma from the balm, which is hardly noticeable. My lips feel moisturized for a long time after application. They also feel soft and supple. I’ve made my own lip balm before, but I never thought (or read) about using beef tallow – pure genius. The only place that I’ve used beef tallow before was to apply it to my woodworking handplanes, and it makes them slide across the wood, so why not my lips too.
Overall as a person who uses lip balm multiple times a day, I really like this one.
