This is the BEST diaper rash cream. My daughter is 7 months old, and we’ve struggled with two nasty bouts of diaper rash (one was due to a yeast infection, and the second was due to a nasty stomach bug that resulted in frequent diaper changes). Both times, this was the only diaper rash cream that worked, and I think I’ve tried everything. It doesn’t smell bad like some of the creams (Desitin, Boudreaux’s Butt Paste), it’s thick, and it feels creamy. It stays on well (unlike Aquaphor), but it also seems soothing. The pediatrician recommended mixing Maalox, Aquaphor, and Desitin, but I think Balmex worked much better.

Thankfully my son has never really had diaper rash. We used the desitin extra strength for his first 1.5 yrs (rec’d by my girlfriend who is a pediatrician). that stuff is hardcore and I think thats why we were so lucky. Now that his bum is less sensitive, we switched to the Balmex because I cant stand the smell of desitin (it has cod oil in it and I swear I can smell the fishy smell) ad ive been very happy with the Balmex. No offensive smell, good texture and much cheaper! However, I think that if you have a true bout of diaper rash, the extra strength desitin is the way to go.

I wear diapers as an adult, and I have tried many different remedies for diaper rash. I used A&D ointment when my kids were in diapers, but that didn’t cut it for me. I tried Balmex, and my horrible rash was gone in just a few days! I have been using it for many years now. I apply it each time I put on a diaper. It does a fantastic job of preventing diaper rash, as well as treating it.

I love balmex. I use it as a preventative measure. My daughter is almost 4 months now and has never had diaper rash. Sometimes her little butt looks red after a 12 hour night without a diaper change but the redness literally vanishes with just one clean diaper with balmex. It is a nice thick white paste that has no smell (which I love). I have tried vaseline before but it didn’t seem like it was doing anything. I also tried desitin and found it to be more watery and have a horrible medicinal smell. Just fyi, before applying any diaper rash ointment you should make sure the babys butt is nice and dry otherwise you are just trapping the moisture under the ointment. I have 2 big 16oz jars for home and bought the 4 pack of the 4 oz tubes for her diaper bags and daycare.

I love this item for my son. You can see a difference with one application. This was recommended to me by a trusted friend when my son was little. I had received a couple of other different diaper creams as gifts so I do have some to compare to, and this is hands down the best. It doesn’t have a strong smell and it coats and provides a barrier as well. I like to order the 4-pack so that I always have some handy and in reserve. Plus it is less expensive that way. I have had a hard time finding this in the stores so I was happy to find it on Amazon. One thing I have found to be helpful is to use a toothpaste squeezer gadget. It helps to get all of the product out and keeps it near the opening so it is easier to apply.

This is by far the BEST diaper rash cream I have ever used. My baby’s buttocks was so red to the point that he couldn’t even sit up without crying out loud. (I was using desitin then). So I googled some creams online and I found balmex. I used it right away and the following morning his butt cleared up as if nothing happened. I highly recommend this product! It works like magic! 😊

Used this on my kids no medicine smell. The hospital pharmacist gave me some and recommended it … I bought it for my grandchild … never had a day of diaper rash when we used it !
