Upon ordering this body butter I saw that it was Shea butter, and I’ve always had great results with butters that contain this ingredient. Not thinking twice, I ordered…and once I received it, my experience just went downhill from here.
The “Shea butter” version in the white jar/white lid smells absolutely horrendous! I now see that it’s listed as “Unscented” – one would think that if there was actually Shea butter in the formula, that it would smell like Shea – but it doesn’t. I can’t even fully articulate the smell of this butter – it’s a flat, chemical smelling scent with an undertone of rottenness.
The butter IS whipped and thick – but again, when using “good” body butter, you can easily feel the “butter”/oils when and after applying. This brand does not have this feeling at all – it feels more watery than oily, and once it dries on your skin, there is no buttery/oily sheen leftover at all either. The butter fully evaporates, and it does not hydrate my skin beyond the initial 2-3 mins or so after applying it.
Given the cost of this jar in relation to the low formula quality and lack of nourishing/moisturizing results, I recommend trying another brand and product instead – I do not recommend purchasing this one.

This body butter is definitely thick and hydrating! Doesn’t seem oily, which is nice. Smell is okay, nothing wonderful. I like how it comes with a little scooper, helps prevent it from getting under my nails.
Makes my skin feel nice. Not the worst.

The body butter is thick and creamy. It comes in a large and beautiful container with a spatula.
The scent is not vanilla at all. It smells like a mix of soybean, shea and argan oils that have been sitting for a while. The comedogenic scale is high. The butter feels like it coats the skin which is not a feeling that I enjoy.
I wanted to love this product, especially because it is fair-trade and made with love from Ghana.

Have you ever purchased a body butter than advertised itself as being shea but actually ended up being light and oily, as if they maybe put a teaspoon of shea in it?? You don’t have to worry about that with this product! I am fairly certain this is straight up shea butter with no gimmicks. Here’s how I know. For one thing, the feel of it on my skin. You can’t mistake real shea butter. It creates this thick nourishing feeling on my skin that indicates real shea butter. The other way I know is the scent. Although some people may find this off putting, the scent of this lotion is not great. It’s supposed to be bergamot, but it is too light to cover the odor of shea butter. I have had a real block of raw shea butter before and it does not smell very good. It’s not stinky, but it’s not pleasant either. Since this lotion didn’t smell very good, I know it’s really shea butter. I refuse to take a star off for that considering it is a natural consequence of having true shea butter in the lotion, and a lot of it at that! If you’re tired of buying lotion that dries out your skin, try this body butter. It’s the real deal. Just know that it may not be as synthetically scented as others on the market. Highly recommend!!

This is a nice body butter lotion. It is thick and moisturizes very well. I used it on my arms and elbows and could feel the difference almost instantly. That said, it is a little sticky, so I would not recommend this as a massage lotion at all.
The smell was fine- not bad, not great. But it was very light. So I didn’t mind it at all.

This review is for AZMERA Shea Body Butter, Vanilla Bean, 8.82Oz.
I really enjoyed this product. The vanilla smell is strong, but not overpowering. The butter is very rich, very creamy, and definitely coats the skin. I recommend using this immediately after a bath or shower to lock in your skin’s moisture. Similarly, I used this often after washing my hands, and it felt very protective.
This is the kind of product that I like in particular in the dry winters where I live. I don’t think I’d use this product too much during the summer, when my skin is oilier and sweatier and I use more light-weight products. And I definitely would not put this on my face – my face is especially sensitive to occlusive ingredients.
I also like the way the jar looks, and am glad to support a fair trade product.
Overall, I like this a lot.

This is a nice thick body butter with shea butter. It feels thick and creamy and creates a nice moisturized feeling. The vanilla scent is light and smells pleasant to me. The container is attractive and it did come with a little spatula, though my particular jar came with the safety seal floating on top of the lotion and not attached at all.

So I like the texture and the smell. Smells natural, even though the container says “fragrance. And the texture suggests it’s more natural than not. It’s not a generic texture (some of you will know what I’m referring to…that creamy white generic base lotion texture where they add a few oils and call it a new product). It actually feels like it has Shea butter in it. I like it and have started using it. Seems legit.
