I very rarely review what I buy. When I do, it’s either because something is really great – 5 stars – or really bad – 1 star; and then usually only after I have had something for a while to make sure it hasn’t broken or fallen apart within the first 6 months.
I’m making an exception here because I love this thing. I have other hot/cold packs; they’re usually filled with some kind of gel. They all generally do the job, but are variously easy/difficult to keep in place where you want it.
I like this one best because it’s filled with seeds and because it stays in place without my needing to wrap an uncomfortable elastic strap to keep it there.
There are three things that are nice about the seeds: one, they are not liquid so the material that holds them doesn’t have to be plasticky and impermeable. It’s breathable and soft instead, fleecy but thin. This means that the moisture in the seeds can come through, which helps to distribute the heat. Two, the seeds get warm evenly and don’t seem to ever get too hot, which is a downside of the gel stuff. Three – and this was a nice surprise – when you warm this up, it gives off a lovely earthy smell – like oatmeal. It reminds me of of my grandma, and it is soothing – just what you want when you’re trying to reduce pain.
The shape and size make it so that you can wrap it around your neck and it’ll stay there. You can also drape it over one shoulder and it’ll stay there. You don’t even need to engage the elastic. So I can go about my business around the house and it stays in place. This is important because the last thing you want is to be unconsciously using your muscles in order to keep it in place.
I’ve gone to sleep with it wrapped around my neck. It was wonderful. I’d buy it again.

I like the soft cloth and that it covered my entire neck and some of my shoulder. It also wraps around your entire neck. I put it in a Zipp lock bag and keep it I’m the freezer. I have not tried putting it in the microwave. I love this wrap.

i love using this warmed up after a long day at work and it relaxes and makes my neck feel better. i love the smell when it’s warmed up but i know people might find it a little strong. would definitely recommend to someone! i have yet to try it cold but i prefer the heat. it holds the warmth for a while too.

I use several methods and product styles for Cervical Spine, Upper Shoulders, Base of Head because of arthritis and disc issues. Different products and rotating between ice and/or heat methods are necessary for me. I have been using it daily for heat for about 10 days so far.
Pros:
After recent Cervical Spine surgery, I usually use various products daily to get relief. For moist heat , I have found this item to be very helpful because it wraps around my entire neck and back of head. 1 minute on each side in microwave (per their instructions) is just right for me.
Electric heating pads don’t provide the moist heat like a product such as this. The soft cover feels good against the skin. It doesn’t slip, like others I have. It heats of very nicely in microwave and heat lasts good amount of time.

Cons:
It is heavy, though only 2.5 lbs. But not overly heavy…the weight is needed to provide “firm” fit. I am a petite woman.
The elastic holder takes a bit of maneuvering (stretching) initially. I’m hoping it will remain durable.

I have suffered from painfully tight neck and shoulder muscles for years. Really suffered! I take prescription muscle relaxers and pain pills, use CBD pain cream, and I’ve allowed myself to be shot up with botox every three months for many years. But I haven’t gotten the heat part right until now. I’ve tried heating pads, which won’t contour to the are enough for the heat to do any good. I tried an electric heat pad that wrapped around my neck and shoulder area, but I had the same problem of getting good contact and heat transfer because it was made for larger people than I am – and it covered so much area that I seriously overheated. Then I bought a little pillow you put in the microwave, which contoured but didn’t stay in place. Then someone told me there are weighted products that go around your neck, which lead me to this product. When I saw the photo, I got my hopes up because the “twin tube” design goes up the side of your neck aways, which is one of the places that I have pain that’s hard to get a heating pad in contact with. Then it goes down over the shoulders, where I have a ton of pain. It covers the whole painful area without roasting me! It feels so great on my poor muscles. It stays warm for a while, but if you want it hot hot, you need to reheat it repeatedly. I don’t care. This thing rocks! It also looks good, and the medium blue is a nice color. It has a pleasant smell, almost like grain. The fleece side feels nice against my skin, and the product would also work to warm you up if you’re chilly. I’m going to tell my doctor about these! If you suffer from neck pain or pain on the top of your shoulders, give this a try. You’ll be glad you did.
