At 10 years of age, our pup developed a seasonal allergy in spring with terribly itchy skin. Last year I followed our vet’s advice and gave our dog Apoquel, supposedly “THE go-to-allergy medicine for pets.” This year I did some research first and found out that Apoquel is actually really really bad for your dog, with horrible side effects and potential long-term damage to liver and kidneys. So I used HistoPlex instead – and it worked even better than Apoquel!

My lab was on Apoquel because he was getting sores on his paws from chewing on them so badly. While the Apoquel worked well on the symptoms, it is expensive, available only by prescription, and can damage kidneys in canines according to multiple sources who I trust (the main one the person who runs the dog resort that I take my fur baby to when I travel). HistoPlex worked almost instantly (I stopped the Apoquel for two weeks, he started chewing his paws again, and then stopped almost an hour and a half after his first dose). I am five weeks into using it now, and my pup is still allergy symptom-free. He is 68 pounds, and the effective dose is two tablets with breakfast and one with dinner. LOVE this product – all natural MEANS something. I realize that it may not work for every dog, but I am totally pleased.

I have been trying everything for my asthma. My doctors only know how to prescribe albuterol inhalers and corticosteroids. Both have long term side effects that no one discusses so my dream is to get off them. A natural practitioner I am seeing now recommended this to me in a time I am having lots of attacks and corticoids and albuterol is not doing the job anymore. Well, it’s been a couple of days taking it and instead of 20 puffs, I did none nor took any corticoid. Hopefully this is part of the long term solve. It sure is doing the job for now.

This product was recommended by a breeder when my dog began to REALLY SUFFER from idiopathic itching. I refused to use prednisone or Apoquel because I think their unsafe long term’My westie is a little better but he has to get the HISTOPLEX 3 times a day and he’s still itchy but not pulling his hair out and making bald spots

(Husband Jon) I have been using this product for chronic sinusitis for over 15 years. Histoplex (regular, not AB) is the “best product since sliced bread!” I take two capsules with each meal, and one or two before I go to bed each night. My sinuses feel better in the morning when I take it at night. This product was formulated for HUMANS, although it does not surprise me that it also works for dogs (mammals like us). I often take a Quercetin/Bromelain/vitamin C mix tablet from source naturals with it, but Histoplex works just fine without that. If I am fighting a cold or something, I may supplement it with silver nasal spray to clear the infection from my nasal and sinus cavities. I have tried numerous other products that help at times, but Histoplex (regular, not AB) is the only one that always works. Stinging nettle also helps, but not as consistently as this product. I can always sleep well after taking this product at night, but I cannot sleep if I take stinging nettle after 5 PM.

I have a mature Terrier mix hat has a severe inching problem that HistoPlex really worked, Now I cannot find it anywhere so I tired HistoPlex AB. It does not work. I want to know why I cannot find HistoPlex anywhere.

My 6 year old, 60 lbs lab mix has been on Apoquel for several years. I hate giving it to her, and I am so afraid of the side effects “all natural” websites are warning about. So, I had high hopes for HistoPlex after reading raving reviews. Unfortunately, this supplement did not do anything for her allergy symptoms. When I stopped giving her Apoquel, she kept me up all night trying to chew her feet off. HistoPlex did not provide any relief.
