I usually love these bars. Both peanut butter versions are great tasting. Will just get from GNC from now on. This being non refundable or not being able to return is ridiculous. How do you think this is ok to sell or ship. Hard as a rock and taste old. A waste of money and going in the trash. Would give 0 stars if I could.
Pretty sure they put a new sticker with newer expiration date but ship old expired bars

The only thing negative is they’re pricey. In my opinion these are the best tasting protein bars on the market the only other ones I enjoy this much are the puff built bars other than that it’s not even close. The monster cookie and smores are my favorite flavors. If you can afford them they’re definitely worth a try. If you live near a Hyvee or an HEB you can try a single at one of those locations and see if you like them. They taste just like a candy bar so you should.

They are about as good tasting for a protein bar as you’ll ever find (if you like peanut butter, reeses, etc.). Price is a little higher, but not a ton, and if you want to enjoy eating it, then it’s worth a few more pennies.

I really wanted to love these but I didn’t. I am a big sweets person but even these were too sweet for me. I could only do a couple of bites. These taste like a candy bar which is nice but like you might as well just pour some sugar and protein powder in your mouth, lol.

Literally the best tasting protein bar out there

I’m not a ‘protein bar’ guy or a health food person in general. I don’t care about carbs or sugars or macros. I just wanted something tasty and protein packed in my backpack for when I skip lunch or breakfast, that didn’t taste like garbage health food for protein bar guys trying to hit their macros.
I tried one of Anabar’s variety packs on a recommendation and they were all edible but just ‘okay’. They are not like candy bars. More like big, dense, chewy granola bars kinda with various flavorings. The bars are noticeably peanut-butter based and the chocolate kept melting even at normal temperatures, but they did work great. I had energy and didn’t feel hungry .
Got a box of Death by Peanut Butter and couldn’t be happier. They don’t get melty easily like the chocolate ones and they have a nice sweetened peanut butter taste. It feels like what Anabar is supposed to be.
Could be sweeter. Going to watch for that PB&J flavor to come back. The marshmallows in some of the ones in the variety pack helped the texture a lot, so some of those in a bar with the peanut butter coating would be nice.

I usually get the variety pack to have different flavors when I want something different. One of the best tasting protein bars on the market and satisfies the sweet tooth.

Craving a s’more but lacking the campfire? I decided to try this Anabar protein bar in the “Milk Chocolate Campfire S’mores” flavor. At nearly $1.40 an ounce, it wasn’t cheap, but it promised a protein-packed candy bar experience.
The bar arrived and tore open easily. Inside, the milk chocolate coating looked inviting. Taking a bite, the chocolate had a decent snap, and the texture was smooth. Underneath the chocolate was a graham cracker-like crust, which added a nice crunch.
Now for the key question – did it taste like a s’more? The flavor was there – milk chocolate, graham cracker, and a hint of marshmallow. However, it wasn’t overly sweet, and the marshmallow flavor was subtle. It was more like a chocolate bar with graham cracker bits and a vague marshmallow aftertaste.
Overall, the Anabar wasn’t a bad alternative for a s’mores craving. The texture was good, and the protein content might be appealing to some. However, the price tag was high, and the flavor, while decent, wasn’t a perfect s’more replica. If you’re looking for a more affordable, traditional s’more experience, you might be better off with the real deal.
