The smell is not great, but that is NOT the kind of lotion it is. It is a thick lotion, with an almost salty scent. Sometimes stings a little, on legs that were newly shaved, for example. But the sting is gone quickly. It has lactic acid in it, so it helps turn over your skin. Within a week of using it once daily I was able to notice a big difference, not only in the appearance of my skin but in the feel of it. It helps to even its texture. Great for mature skin like mine, but if I knew about this when I was in my twenties I would have used it.

This lotion does not make your skin feel greasy. However I would appreciate a more pleasant smell this lotion is phenomenal! It absorbs very quickly and has the ingredients to heal your cracked painful feet. It was originally recommended to me by a podiatrist and the lactic acids and ceramides are the key. I saw a difference literally within 24 hours. Also since I’ve used it on my feet my elbows are no longer cracked and dry. After your feet begin healing you do not need to use it every single day and then it will last longer for the money you spent on it!

This hand cream smells like chocolate for me and it did sting, the first time I used it only, i’ve only used it three times and it’s already making my parched cracky hands super baby soft it must be the Lactic acid in it.

I’ve been using this cream for several months on my legs and am on my second bottle. I use it 3-4 times a week.
PROS: the only product I’ve ever used that has stopped my legs from getting itchy! It is incredibly moisturizing and makes my legs nice and shiny. This product has also helped a lot with preventing ingrown hairs.
CONS: the smell isn’t great, but for me not a big deal. The cream does not absorb quickly (takes several hours for me). As the bottle states, it will burn if you accidentally get lotion on broken skin!
Overall, for me, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I will continue to purchase.

This is one of the best body lotions I’ve ever used. It makes my skin feel so soft and moisturized. I have KP skin and this is one of the few lotions I feel I can see a difference in my skin after one use.
Having said that, there is a smell with this product that I believes comes from the lactic acid. I really don’t like it and it does linger. If you have sensitive skin, I would proceed with caution with this product as it does contain a higher concentration of an AHA (lactic acid at 15%) that helps to exfoliate the skin. Besides the lactic acid, it does contain some ceramides. Ceramides help to moisturize and strengthen the protective skin moisture barrier.
All in all, it’s a great product worth a try.

I am giving this a 5 star rating because the product truly works for super dry skin. This issue is the scent. It smells HORRIBLE! For a great product, it sure smells bad.

This lotion was recommended to me by my doctor. I have been using it for several months and my skin no longer looks dry. I love how it feels on my skin after a shower. The smell was not that great at first, but I have grown used it. Small price to pay as often scents irritate my skin.

This lotion really helps my KP. It doesn’t make it go away completely, but enough to be worth it. I also prefer thicker lotions. The smell isn’t great. But it isn’t strong and doesn’t linger.

I’ll start with the positives. This stuff works great. Like incredibly great! I have very dry skin and this stuff has made major improvements in my crispy, gross, bumpy, long-suffering winter skin after just a few days of use. It’s truly amazing. Moving on to the negatives: Other reviewers who say it has an “odd” smell are apparently very kind people, or don’t actually have real noses. This stuff stinks to high heaven. It has, for me, an intolerably bad smell. Like a combination of ammonia + cat pee + something petrochemical-ish + maybe some notes of rotting carcass. It’s horrific, the smell. Like I want to run away from my own self while I apply it and I actively hate smelling myself after I’ve put it on. To be fair, the smell *does” dissipate after about 30 minutes, but I still smell it, faintly, many hours after having applied it, and then I want to run away from myself all over again. I haven’t asked my husband if he can smell it on me, because I’m scared to know his answer. As a more neutral, though not entirely positive, point of feedback, it goes on sticky and tacky, but that does diminish some after a while, so that you’ll be just a little bit sticky by hour 4 and your underpants should cease to stick to your butt cheeks at that time. As to the price: Sure, it’s relatively expensive, but it does work beautifully, and perhaps smelling like something that’s dead or dying is worth it to you!
To summarize:
– Pros: This stuff works beautifully and lives up to its advertised promises. I desperately want to love it.
– Cons: The price you’ll pay for beautiful skin is smelling like a rotting BCE dinosaur corpse that’s been doused with 40 pounds of very old and dirty cat litter.
