This is actually quite a solid product. I’ve tried a few different vegan powders (including the purist NOW brand pea protein without any flavoring and holy Toledo, was that a rough ride) and couldn’t stomach the aftertaste – it’s not the taste that’s too bad, but once it hits my nose and stomach, I can’t fight the nausea. With the pb&j flavor, I don’t have that overwhelming pea protein aftertaste. It’s mostly a peanut butter flavor, which masks the yuck super well.
The powder is quite fine and blends pretty well just shaking it, though there is a little bit of clumping at the bottom when I do this, so an immersion blender for a couple seconds would knock that problem right out; however, minimal clumping really doesn’t bother me. There are freeze dried strawberry chunks in this flavor, which can be mistaken for clumping also (my partner FREAKED when he first had it before he realized there’s literal fruit chunks in this flavor).
The packaging is mediocre. While it looks nice and I enjoy the bag format for space, the ziplock part doesn’t stay closed and I’ll have to paperclip it or something, but it’s not that big of a deal to me as all bagged supplements I’ve tried has had some packaging issues like this. Also, I noticed some reviews stating their bag came half-empty. 1.) This is to accommodate transportation and it boggles me people don’t understand this and 2.) I weighed mine out of curiosity just to double check and it comes out close to 1.7 lbs. as advertised.
Honestly, I don’t get an overwhelming artificial sweetener aftertaste like others mention. I don’t drink anything else except black coffee and water, so I feel like I’d really be able to notice it if it were off-putting for my personal taste. It’s not disgustingly sweet, either, as I’m a savory-leaning person and not super into desserts.
It is pricy, but it’s the first plant-based protein I don’t have to chuck down, so I’ll be repurchasing for sure. I’m usually a whey girl, but my milk allergy says otherwise.

The most yummy protein powder. No digestion issues. The packaging could be improved. I am going to buy a container and just dump it into it to solve the problem. It is expensive. Other than price and packaging I am a very satisfied customer.

Although this product mixed well, once I was able to get the shake down, which was not an easy task to do because of its it’s horrific taste, I did not have any stomach issues which again…shocking, considering the flavor is absolutely awful. I really wanted to like this shake. I love the ingredients, I love the packaging, I loved that it mixed easily and didn’t require an electric blender. But I just could not get past the incredibly awful flavor and the long lasting aftertaste of this particular product. I ordered the melted chocolate flavor. Maybe you’ll have better luck with a different flavor but I would stay clear of the melted chocolate flavor in this brand, because I have used a lot of protein shakes in my life and not all of them were great, but this one was intolerable and after forcing myself to drink at least one, because I really really wanted to love it, I just could not handle another. I even tried mixing with coffee to see if I could mask some of that horrible aftertaste, and nothing worked.

I like everything about this product. It’s plant based, it mix well with bananas and other added items such as almond butter. Can’t wait to try other flavors. I use it as a meal replacement, and it keeps me full.

Nutritional wise it’s all good I’m just not a fan of the chocolate flavor, not terrible just not what I’m used to. But I’m finishing this batch not not so bad I want to waste it

I tried a sample pack straight from Ambrosia but did not care for any of the flavors. The peanut butter cup was ok, french toast did not taste like french toast at all to me, and did not care for peanut butter jelly. Vanilla was, well, vanilla. The mint cacao is my favorite so far, but I really want to try the blueberry, strawberry, sprinkle cupcake and gingerbread. I’m just not really wanting to drop $50 to risk trying them and not liking them. Wish they had more flavors available for sample.
As for the powder, it mixes very easily and does not have a strong flavor in any I’ve tried so far (they are fairly subtle and light; not thick and heavy like whey isolate). I mix with soy milk in a shaker cup and it shakes smooth with no clumps. Best of all, this is easy on my tummy and my shaker cup doesn’t smell like something died in it after use while waiting to be washed. I’ll probably just get this flavor again so I’m not disappointed because I know its good.
