These reasonably-priced A+ Health loperamide HCl softgels work great to stop diarrhea. (The price varies; when I ordered them, the box was less than $6.) My entire family has, um, issues, occasionally, and nothing works better for us than loperamide HCl, and softgels seem to work faster than tablets. Note that this drug comes with a serious warning: “HEART ALERT: TAKING MORE THAN DIRECTED CAN CAUSE SERIOUS HEART PROBLEMS OR DEATH!” Therefore, take only as directed! These softgels are made in the USA, and the package we received expires over 2.5 years out.
Update: I see people are frustrated with the blister pack packaging which makes it a challenge to get to the pills. When I started taking loperamide years back, the pills were loose in a plastic container. However, they are now in blister packs, apparently because people have been abusing them (to get high). While the pills aren’t easy to access, it’s not so bad if you follow the instructions outlined in my accompanying picture. To me, the most confusing thing in their instructions is the scissors icon is positioned such that it looks like you should cut on the corner angle. However, you cut on the perforation between pills. Hope this helps.
