Not a day has gone by over the last 6 years that I haven’t had a daily dose or two of Acetyl L-Carnitine, I LOVE it so much. It is superb for mitochondrial wellness, as well as supporting cognitive wellness and I have sang it praises to family and friends who have similar health and wellness objectives to me. This supplement is my ride-or-die of supplements. Amazing Formulas’ Acetyl L-Carnitine is right up my alley, as I prefer to buy Acetyl L-Carnitine in powder form and fill up the capsules myself, as that seems to be the best way to get the best quantity vs buck ratio AND while avoiding the fillers and flow agents that are always always ALWAYS found in all pre-filled capsule supplements.
For a great price, Amazing Formulas offers their Acetyl L-Carnitine powder product, at 100 serving quantity. It may not look like much when you open the container, but 100 one gram servings is great for the price offered by Amazing Formulas, especially as it is devoid of fillers or flow agents that are undoubtedly in other products offering pre-filled capsules of Acetyl L-Carnitine. Definitely a win-win situation when you get Amazing Formulas’ Acetyl L-Carnitine.
Here for the Objective Facts/Subjective Opinions –
Nothing about this l-carnitine product pleased me. First, the container they used is way too big for the amount of powder. The powder occupies only about 1/4 of the container. Quite wasteful.
Second, the powder that I received had solidified into several hard masses. Even with the pack inside that is supposed to prevent that. This usually happens if a product is stored improperly, or if moisture gets inside, or sitting out on a shelf for a long time. This is the first time I have received l-carnitine in powder form. But this smelled like vinegar. Very off-putting. Especially if it is unflavored.
Third, they don’t give you a scoop. Nor do they specify the volume of a “scoop”. They do specify that a serving is 1 gram, so if you have a really accurate kitchen scale, that would work.
This product feels inferior all around. Would suggest looking elsewhere for a product that you’re going to consume.

There is supposed to be a scoop enclosed in this jar, but there isn’t one. That makes it impossible to measure out the doses, of which there are supposed to be 100 in this jar. How big is a “scoop” that’s not included in the package? Terrible. Which is too bad, because L-Carnitine is a nutrient I have been prescribed to take on a daily basis. I’d have liked to use this but don’t know how much to take or how to measure it.

This is a supplement I had read about and wanted to try. I heard it had a sour taste, so my plan was to stir into a spoonful of yoghurt to take. What I wasn’t expecting was that it tastes a little salty as well as sour. Oh well, I will get used to it! A couple of points–the serving size is a scoop (1 gram), but I couldn’t find a scoop in my container, so I need to weigh it. Second, it comes in a fairly large container, but the container is only 1/3 full. I hope this will be a useful part of my diet plan.

Compared to similar products, the value of this is quite good. I can’t really compare the effects to others as I have very little experience with it, but figured I would give it a shot, but it does seem to provide a subtle energy boost on days I remember to take it vs days I don’t.

So I have tried alot of amazing formula branded supplements. This is the first powdered form I have tried. I’m disappointed that it does not come with a scoop, they lose a star for that. I would also say that is is a little pricey for 30 doses compared to other brands. It has the familiar sharp vinegar taste I expect from l-cartinine. I use this to give a bit of extra fat burning during workout. Fill this bad boy to the top 60 -90 doses and give me a scoop and I would buy again. Otherwise I would pass and go with a different brand for this particular supplement.

Such a small amount and no scoop

The good: it mixes well in my smoothies, it doesn’t have any noticeable impact on the flavor, and it should last a few months.
The “seems bad, but isn’t really”: the jug comes 80% empty…most supplements and medicines have the bottle size determined by labeling requirements. The packaging has to be big enough to fit the required information at the required size. Still, it’s a bit jarring to open a new container and find it mostly empty. Be warned. You get exactly as much as they promise, but it looks disappointing.
The actual bad: mine had several large clumps that suggested moisture got in somewhere, even with the anti-moisture packet. There’s also no scooper (unforgivable with that much empty space).
