Bought this spray rather impulsively assuming that it would do something. Basically the ingredient used a) is incredibly cheap and the markup for this is crazy b) I wouldn’t care about a) at all if it worked. But it does not work in my experience.
I can find nothing about sesquicarbonate being used as an anti allergen for cat dander. They have a little excerpt on their website that third party testing has shown it works but there is no link to this test. I can find nothing on wiki, no studies, nothing at all. Could the seller please link any study showing effectiveness of the active ingredient?

With just a few squirts a day in each room I am sneezing sooo much less. The bottle is huge, so this will last a long time. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I don’t know what’s in this, but it’s natural and IT WORKS. We got a cat, despite my allergies, because I was told this breed was less likely to trigger my allergies. It was true, she didn’t, at first. But as the dander built up and my outdoor allergies became an issue, I had no refuge. I thought this was just how I breathe now… not especially deep and with a chronic stuffy nose. Enter this magical concoction. I sprayed half a bottle around our townhouse and, I kid you not, within minutes there was noticably clearer air. I’m still sneezing, because pollen, but I’m not gasping for air after climbing 2 flights of steps and it hasn’t even been an hour. Thank you, from the bottom of my cat-loving, but also cat-allergic heart. You’ve saved my sanity and sinuses!

Easy to use, but hard to measure how it works

I purchased this product because we were hosting 40 people at our house for a dinner and there were three people who were allergic to cats.
That morning I put our three large cats upstairs and cleaned the downstairs of our home extensively. Lots of vacuuming of everything including curtains and furniture. Wiped all surfaces including baseboards and wood floors to remove as much pet hair and dander as possible. A little later in the day I followed the directions on the bottle and used this product. Spraying everything, let it sit to dry then vacuuming and wiping again. The entire night no one had any issues with their allergies! The product has little to no scent and I was able to mist it over my white furniture and even lamp shades without experiencing any staining (it’s a clear spray)I was so pleased because we love entertaining but have several friends that are allergic to our pets. Great product so far!! Definitely buying more of this and I would highly recommend it.

Last summer (2024), I was struggling with allergies more than usual. I experienced nasal congestion and allergic conjunctivitis, so I decided to give this allergy spray a try. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to work for me.
However, after a recent allergy appointment (scheduled in June but not until October due to availability), I discovered I don’t actually have environmental allergies. Instead, I have a chemical sensitivity to fragrance.
Back when I thought the product wasn’t effective, I reached out to Allergy Defender, and they promptly issued me a refund—no questions asked—and even let me keep the product. Their customer service is truly top-notch!
If you’re confident you have environmental allergies, I highly recommend giving this spray a try. I still use it in my bedroom because it doesn’t hurt to keep allergens at bay. And if it doesn’t work for you, I’d suggest consulting an allergist to confirm the source of your symptoms.
