This has a pleasant taste, and has a soothing effect on my stomach. It’s almost like swallowing honey, but it coats the stomach wall and feels like a protective film. Just don’t eat right after taking it.

This was recommended by my ENT after having tried Gaviscon and I’m so glad he did. Product works well and has made my life so much better. I love the option of buying individual packets so I’m never without. I keep a tube at home and love both flavors. My most recent order came damaged in the packaging. I went to do a return on Amazon but was unable to do so. I then contacted the company about my concerns as the tube I received could not be used or consumed. Samatha contacted me quickly and did not hesitate to make things right. I love when a company stands behind their products….

Being a post-viral, onset LPR sufferer in the last couple of years, I was absolutely stoked to discover this product. I was quite familiar with the symptom-relieving benefits of alginate treatments (for some people) and have had moderate relief with Gaviscon Advance in the past.
With the Advance being only available in Canada or Europe, like so many other reflux sufferers, we end up paying a fortune for the product and not always having the best of luck with benefits. I for one, feel Gaviscon Advance does improve my symptoms at times, but would absolutely jump at an alginate-based product that could compete in price, taste & effectiveness.
Reflux Gourmet accomplishes the first two in a beautiful way. Reasonably priced and individually packaged; it adds the benefit of a product that is perfect for on-the-go, travel and discreetness. No more carrying the big, cumbersome brown Gaviscon bottle around if you are going anywhere!
The flavor profiles are amazing. Personally, I don’t mind the anise flavor of G.A.; in fact, I rather like it. For most people though, anything giving off a black licorice flavor is an immediate “no”. Reflux Gourmet offers 2 varieties in this pack: Vanilla/Caramel and Mint and both are absolutely delicious. It’s definitely night and day difference from the medicinal anise profile of Gaviscon.
Unfortunately, where I have the hesitancy, is in it’s effectiveness. After a couple of months of using this product off and on during Silent Reflux/LPR flair-ups, I can’t honestly say it has been a significant factor in temporary relief of symptoms. There is a considerable lack of overall effectiveness and most definitely a decline from G.A.-level effectiveness in the mornings when I struggle with mucus overload. I just don’t get the moderate levels of relief I believe I was getting with Gaviscon Advance. Sure, everyone’s body and circumstances are different, but for me, I’m ready to go back and re-compare.

I did not notice this had calciums in it and I have high calcium levels (hyperparathyroidism)
I was told not to use it as it could cause serious problems for me.
This is just to advise others who may not notice this and avoid them buying it by mistake like I did
It looks very promising for those who have regular calcium levels and do not have a hyerPARAthyroid issue, unless specialist ok’s it. Worth trying.

The price is higher than I’d like but since it is recommended by my specialist I use it every night before bed at minimum plus when I’ve eaten a meal that isn’t settling right. Taste is good considering what I expected.

I prefer the travel size to carry around in a bag opposed to the big tube this brand offers. The taste is tolerable — the caramel is actually good and the mint is okay. These work well for after meals to keep everything settled. It also isn’t hard to take a whole serving since it’s just enough in each pouch. This is a great solution and product offered for stomach and digestive conditions!

I provided a reasonable evaluation of the product. something in the review was determined to not meet the community guidelines so here is my new review… stuff does what it is supposed to, and it tastes pretty good too!

Not as effective as Gaviscon and also more expensive so I’ll be sticking with Gaviscon going forward.
It tastes nice though.

The pros of this product are that it works very well and I like the taste (though some may find it too sweet). However, I would echo others to say that you may need more than the recommended dosage. I personally need to use 2-3 tsps to get the complete affect. This makes the product pretty expensive, as you go through it very quickly. Additionally, each teaspoon has 3g of added sugar–6% of your daily value. So my 2-3 tsp dose has 6-9g of sugar, or 12-18% of my daily value. And I have to use this usually two to three times per day, meaning this product alone has added up to 27g of sugar to my diet (that is more than the recommended daily limit of 24g for adult women–which I am). Now, luckily, I’ve cut out virtually all other sugar. But long-term, this could cause a lot of issues for a lot of people. If they come out with a sugar-free version (maybe with monkfruit or stevia or something??), they’ll get 5 stars.
