I was a devoted alienist product lover. When we were excursive I would break out a little and suspected this product but, never knew. I stopped using the sundmsecteen alive because it always seemed to have minimum sun protection and significant negative secondary effects on my skin. It has been a few years
I still bought stuff sometimes when this price was so much better than gooo.
I am 42, ushally have very clear skin, use Dr.Bryant who has reversed my deep wrinkles, I always wear sunscreen of luxury/ high quality. I found this in my purse as I pulled up for my bf soccer game he was coaching and put it on. No additional makeup. Typical morning routine Cetaphil face wash charge toothbrushing, get dressed etc. I went to my b’s soccer game he coaches and put this on without makeup on a clean face. The sunscreen felt thick as usual. Not easy to run in and tacky.
24 hrs this is my face grossly Broken out. My younger sister saw me today and asked what the heck happened to my face because she’s never seen my face look this except maybe once or twice in high school with crazy hormones causing it. I told her I used a new sunscreen It’s painful and I can’t seem to get it to go away fast enough.
. Worst part is I’m in medical so I have to wear a mask all day so when I breathe the bacteria does not leave my mouth area and his reabsorbed through the skin, thus continuing to cycle of breakout. So disappointed with this product, And I never liked it,now I will never use it.

I was pleased with this product, but I am not sure if it is worth the price.
This product is a moisturizing sunscreen. It is SPF 15. It has the same texture as a sunscreen. My face soaked in the product quickly. I have very dry skin. I used this product at the end of my skin care routine.
The product was easy to apply. It hasn’t been super sunny in my area yet, so I will update on how this product does with more sun time. I have heard it is recommended to wear sunscreen everyday all year round, so I figured this product would be a great sunscreen to start with.
This is a great everyday sunscreen, but I would recommend something more for warmer days spent all day in the sun because of the low SPF.
Really, my only complaint is the price. The quality of the product was impressive, but not quite $40 impressive.
The size of the bottle is perfect for traveling.

This seems like a pretty ridiculous product. Sunscreen for more than $23 an ounce sounds absurd and there is nothing about this sunscreen to make me think otherwise.
This comes in a nice looking and colorful plastic tube that is all of 1.7 ounces. It is a white cream that to my senses is totally unscented. It claims to be moisturizing and I guess it is but it doesn’t feel any more moisturizing than any other “upscale” sunscreens that might only cost about $5.00 an ounce and I’m not sure it is any more moisturizing than something like Coppertone. It has the same (zinc oxide) active ingredient that any cheap sunscreen has. It goes on clear and sinks in with no oily feeling. The package says to apply it “liberally” every 2 hours you are are outside. Remember this stuff is more than $23.50 an OUNCE.
The sun hasn’t been overly bright around here this spring so I don’t know how well this would work in bright, hot summer sun but at only an SPF 15, I suspect you could end up going through this tube in a week or less if you actually decided to use it as sunscreen on a regular basis. I didn’t get burned at all while wearing this in the spring so I guess the SPF is high enough to prevent sunburn when outside for a few hours in the spring under partly cloudy skies.
It didn’t feel like that great of moisturizer, so if you want a moisturizer you’d probably want to look elsewhere as well.
With a low SPF for sunscreen and nothing special in the way of it being a facial moisturizer, the price seems really extreme. I wouldn’t buy this and don’t see why anyone else would buy it unless they were looking to burn money.
At $10 or tube or less, probably less, this might be something to consider but at $40 for this tiny tube, it is a joke! Don’t waste your money.

I always use SPF as part of my morning routine. Lately since school started it means I have to be seen in public so I have been wearing makeup again and this helps eliminate an extra process in my routine. I usually have a separate SPF I apply, but the SPF being included in this moisturizer is pretty helpful. This feels good on my skin and layers well under my makeup.

Some of us think that Coppertone is pricey at approximately 62 cents an ounce. If you are reading this review, you know that premium beauty products price their sunscreens into the stratosphere, indeed so high they are indeed flying close to the sun. This tiny tube of Algenist providing only modest SPF 15 protection will run you a whopping $23.53 an ounce at the time of this review. If you are keeping score, this means that this product costs 24 times the cost of Coppertone, assume the Coppertone is not on sale. Ironically, The active ingredient is found in several other similar products, too: Zinc Oxide.
One advantage to the tiny tube: easy to travel with and meets airline requirement for carry-ons as you embark on your private island getaway. We also constructively suggest that Algenist adds the full ingredients list here. After all, we deserve to know what’s going on our beautiful faces.

Sunscreen is thick, creamy, and white. A little goes a long way and it needs a little rubbing to disappear into skin, otherwise there’s white cast. SPF is ideal for fall/winter months, depending on your location. I use spf 30 during summer for More protection. The price is high for a face sunscreen but the added prebiotic is beneficial for skin in many ways for balancing skin, hydrating, improving skin barriers for those with sensitive skin, and helps with acne prone skin. So while comparing to other name brand sunscreens, your not comparing apples to apples. This isn’t lightweight, so those with oily skin, like myself, will find this feeling heavy.
