This review is for Nerve Renew R-ALA stabilized R alpha Lipoic acid 600mg. The product arrived on time and with a fresh batch date. The packaging and leveling show a good quality. Made in the USA. GMP and lab tested. The capsules are mostly tasteless, odorless and easy to swallow.
I have been interested in adding R-alpha lipoic acid to my supplement regimen. I like that this product is stabilized, 600mg and a single active ingredient.
I have not been taking them long enough to claim amazing benefits so far. But, I do feel this can be a beneficial supplement. As for the value for money. I have seen cheaper products available, but would rather stick with something of this higher quality. 3 bottles is a nice trial size to see if the benefits are worth the price. So far, I’m satisfied.

I love that it is a simple, single-source supplement so you don’t have to worry about complications with other supplements. It is a potent supplement, but has not caused any stomach upset or negative side effects. I like to think that it is helping my nervous system, though I don’t feel any different after taking it for several weeks. Time will tell!
The recommended dose is 2 capsules a day, which makes each bottle a 1-month supply. I love that you can order this in a 3-pack to give you a 90 day supply to verify how effective it is before you need to reorder. It is pricey, but, when you do the math, it is about $1.20 a day, which is not a bad investment for your health.

I like this supplement because I’ve read that to really get the benefits of R-ALA you should be taking more than the 100mg that most supplements give you. This supplement delivers 600mg which is nice and strong. The capsules are medium sized and are easy to swallow and have no odd colors or smells. If you want the benefits of R-ALA this brand seems to be of decent quality and is worth trying!

This product seems a little pricey for only a 30 day supply. However, Stabilized R-ALA is the superior form of Alpha Lipoic Acid because it is more identical to what your body makes than regular ALA.
Both ALA and R-ALA are synthetically manufactured, but R-ALA is seen as superior because it more closely replicates the naturally occurring form (our body also makes ALA)
According to the internet, ALA must be stabilized, or it risks becoming polymerized and inactive
I tasted the capsule contents and it is surprisingly mild, compared to a major established brand with the same product, which smells and tastes frightening.

Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant made by the body. It is found in every cell, where it helps turn glucose into energy. You also get it from foods such as broccoli, carrots, potatoes, red meat. ALA is produced in small amounts in your heart, kidneys, liver, and muscles. It’s found in every cell in your body, where its most important job is to help turn food into energy. Because it’s an antioxidant, it also protects your cells against damage.
Antioxidants attack free radicals, which are created when your body turns food into energy. Having too many free radicals and too few antioxidants in your body causes chemical reactions that damage cells, organs, and tissues. This is called oxidative stress.
Alpha-lipoic acid is thought to help with conditions that involve oxidative stress, such as neuropathy.
Vitamin C is water-soluble antioxidant, while Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxident. ALA is both water- AND fat-soluble, so it can work anywhere in the body. Antioxidants can get used up when they fight off free radicals. But ALA can help reactivate them.

I ordered two bottles of this R-alpha lipoic acid and one bottle appeared normal and the other was dry, yellow, and does not appear safe. The expiration is 8/26 on the bad bottle, which others have mentioned in their reviews. And the product is not eligible for a refund. I had just switched this to brand because it was a better price but now I’m going back to my other brand which never sent any bad bottles.
