Is Absonutirx’s fucoidan to good to be true?

    What is not to like?
    — $21 for 120 500 mg capsules at 85% fucoidan.

Unfortunately, the label provides very little in the way of specifics…(other than 85% fucoidan)
    — about anything you might be interested in when buying fucoidan.

    Country of origin? no information

    Method of extraction? no information

    specific seaweed used? no information

    strength of extract? no information

If the real Mozuku off of Okinawa costs $60-$75 per 60 caps,
    — and Life Extension, NOW and Swanson costs $25 (+/-) per 60 caps,

How can Absonutrix offer 120 caps at $21.00?

In the price competitive supplement market,
    — you generally pay for what you get.

You are getting what is called a “mixed fucoidan”…
    — sourced probably from anywhere.

Does it make a difference where it comes from how it is extracted, and from what?
    — generally it does IMO

There are many reasons to buy this product, although I do not know how the various brands of fucoidan differ in quality. The current price on this item is outstanding, and the company seems to make many interesting products that one cannot find anywhere else.

I bought this product as it is known to enhance the effectiveness of my chemotherapy drug–paclitaxel. I can only say that my cancer doctor noted “dramatic” improvement in the shrinking of my cancer over the past four months (during which time I have been taking fucoidan). I have made other changes to my diet, including taking Raw Meal (a “green” drink/shake) and lemongrass oil, as well. But, based on what I have read, fucoidan is the most beneficial cancer-fighting supplement to take when you are getting paclitaxel (“Taxol”) as a chemo drug. So, I like to give credit to this particular fucoidan product.

I gave it a five star because I don’t have any complaints but for me it just didn’t seem to do anything.

Excellent Product, heavily research by me prior to purchase to achieve a desired result of reducing blood sugar spiking episodes into the low 100s. Coupled with Alpha – Lipoic Acid (600 mg) and Eckla Cava; this trio of supplements returned me to readings in the mid 80s within 6 weeks! (No Diabetes in my immediate future!!) Product specifically selected due to its excellent references and the fact that it is from the Atlantic rather than the Pacific Ocean; where suspected issues may be present due to Japans Nuclear power plant accident event. Might mention that I am a 70 yr old Supplement “Freak”, with a daily arsenal of 21 different supplements / vitamins; who has researched said subject for decades and monitor any new ones, like a hawk, to discern their effectiveness.

I would like to offer a review of this product, Absonutrix Fucoidan. I ask that you first forgive me if this review tends to be a bit lengthy. I’m not a long winded person. But I’d like to make several points. As one who suffers from RA for many years, and has a lot of experience in dealing with anti inflammatory medications, this product has bearing for those who also suffer from RA. And I’d like to be as thorough as I can for them.

My RA is predominantly in my hands. Each morning I awaken between 4:30 and 5:00 am. Not because I wish to. But because inflammation, stiffness and pain awaken me at that time. Lately I’ve been taking Rinvok 15mg daily for treating RA. However, due to side effects, I can only tolerate a half pill per day. As a result, I’m really not getting the full benefits of the medication. But even at half the dosage, it is enough to experience a significant benefit.

But I’m no longer taking it. Due to my occupation, I travel a great deal. As sometimes happens, I’m far away from home when my prescription expires. This is currently the case.
I made an appointment with a rheumatologist here in Texas. It will be six weeks before I can be seen. So, I went to the Emergency Room locally here in Texas to seek a prescription for an anti inflammatory until my appointment. The doctor who seen me was very understanding as he too suffers from RA. I brought with me this bottle of Absonutrix Fucoidan to ask his opinion. He was unfamiliar with it.

    And here’s the thing…
I explained to him that each morning now for a week or so, I take one of these pills on an empty stomach with a bottle of water. And 30 minutes later, the swelling is very nearly gone. The stiffness is down to an acceptable level that I can function. The pain is very tolerable. After 30 minutes, I eat breakfast and then take four 220 mg naproxen (Aleve). Shortly there afterwards, The remaining pain and stiffness is largely gone.
This actually works better than Rinvok. For me anyway. With no side effects at all.
I repeat this at 5 pm. Also on an empty stomach. Later, at about 10 pm, also on a empty stomach, before going to bed, I take another of these Fucoidan pills. The result of that is, in the morning when I awaken, most of the swelling I’d previously experienced when awakening is greatly reduced. As well as the pain and stiffness. Not completely. But it’s much improved.

So I asked this E/R doctor what if anything he knew about Fucoidan. And he never heard of it. However, he was very intrigued. As an MD, he has access to information on medicines that I as a lay person do not. He asked to borrow the bottle for a short time while he searched it on the computer there in the E/R.
A short time later he returned with two other doctors. And they asked me several questions about, how long have I been taking it, where did I get it from etc…

So, they told me briefly what they found on their data base.
They said “Everything we found on this was very positive. Especially for RA patients as well as those in therapy for cancers.” And interestingly…. that it Doesn’t lose effectiveness over time. It will continue to work the same each and every time I take it. (there’s actually a medical term they used for that. But I don’t recall it.) They thanked me for bringing in this bottle. And told me to continue taking it.

Now, there’s another important point I’d like to make. I also purchased on Amazon another Fucoidan product that was much more expensive. It worked very well too. However, the Absonutrix bottle cost me about $25. The other one, marketed by NatureMedic was over $300. Per bottle, it’s roughly 12 times the price. But, when you consider the recommended dosage on the labels, it’s actually even more expensive.
The NatureMedic product works every bit as well as the Absonutrix product. In terms of efficacy, there’s nothing wrong with it. I get the exact same results. The NatureMedic product also contains AHCC. I’m not sure what the benefit of that is. However, I don’t feel any difference. Perhaps over time, I would.

I won’t be reordering the NatureMedic product. I don’t see the value. In my humble opinion, in the sphere of Fucoidan supplements, NatureMedic, made in Japan (which it is said that the base ingredient of Fucoidan is harvested. As well as Okinawa. Extract from a brown seaweed. Also, the pills do have a marine/brine type of odor to them.)) It is the Luxury tier of this supplement. It’s ingredients may well be of a superior quality. But in terms of efficacy, I don’t see it. Kinda like an automobile. Is a Bently superior in build quality to a Chevy? Of course it is. But in terms of it’s ability to transport you from here to there, is it truly better? As for me, I don’t see it. But there’s nothing wrong with it.

    I’ll end with this….
And I’m a bit apprehensive in saying this. But it’s the truth.
Absonutrix is safe, effective and an Amazing value. And…..
If it were twice the price, it would still be an Amazing value.

NatureMedic Fucoidan with AHCC is a great product. Aside from it’s price point, there isn’t a single thing wrong with it.

    Thank you.
    Good luck!!

After extensive research on how to chose fucoidan, I chose Absonutrix brand. Focoidan has a multitude of health benefits but as in most supplements, you really can’t tell if they work for some time, if ever. Amazingly, after just one day, the severe arthritis pain my husband experiences daily was nearly gone. He used to walk bent over due to the pain. It’s been 5 days now and he’s feeling so good he waxed the car yesterday 🙂 He felt a little sore afterwards but no where near the pain he used to experience and he’s still walking straight.

AND SO HAPPY THEY ARE MADE IN THE USA!!

Now the negative part & why I took one star off, they need to put down the percentage of iodine contained as well as the standardized percentage. I emailed the company and have yet to get a response.
