This is a great little gym accessory. Just sqeeze out a small amount of the liquid and spread it around your hands. When it dries, it leaves a chalky residue that lasts throughout your whole workout. It has greatly improved my grip, which was a limiting factor on deadlift. I haven’t used real chalk so I can’t compare it to that, but if you are not allowed to bring chalk into your gym, this stuff works great. The only con I have is the smell; it has a faint coconut-purfume smell. It’s not that annoying, just not ideal. When I’m close to running out, I’ll try another chalk product for comparison unless join a different gym that doesn’t allow chalk. If my new gym doesn’t allow chalk, I’ll most likely buy the 8oz version of this product for refilling the 1.5oz bottle.

I enjoy lifting weights but often have problems with my hands becoming too sweaty, thus reducing my grip strength. I purchased Liquid Grip to combat this problem and have had only a positive experience with it.
Who is this product most suitable for?
Liquid Grip is an ideal product for weight lifter who wants to improve his or her grip while performing pulling exercises such as the deadlift or the shrug. Whether you are a beginner or a more advanced weight lifter, Liquid Grip will allow you to maintain your grip longer throughout the exercise by preventing slippage of the barbell, which can lead to more repetitions and less risk of injury during an exercise set.
Criteria I Used During Evaluation
1. How functional is the product?
• As advertised, Liquid Grip instantly dries once applied to the hands and removes all moisture and sweat. It keeps the hands thoroughly dry during the entire exercise, such as the deadlift, and prevents slippage of the barbell.
2. How cost effective is this product?
• Liquid Grip comes in a 1.5 ounce bottle, and is advertised to hold approximately 45 uses. It is currently only $7.38, and since the majority of weight lifters use it for just a few exercises, Liquid Grip can last between four to six months
3. How convenient is this product?
• Liquid Grip is light and small enough (1.5 x 1.7 x 4.2 inches) to be placed on your car keys or in your pocket, which is useful for those who dislike carrying around a backpack or duffel bag in the gym.
My Overall Thoughts
I am completely satisfied with Liquid Grip, and I firmly believe it is the best alternative to chalk, which has conventionally been used by weight lifters. Nowadays numerous gyms have banned the use of chalk due to the mess it can make on the floor as well as on the barbell. Liquid Grip leaves absolutely no trace of residue on your hands or the barbell, and it easily comes off as soon as you wash your hands. Because I have had no problem with Liquid Grip, I will purchase this product again as soon as I am out of my current bottle, and I will continue to enjoy increasing my strength without worrying about the barbell slipping during a weight lifting set.

I wanted something to help improve my grip when deadlifting but didn’t want to use straps. Liquid grip is the ideal solution as, once it has dried onto you hands, it improves your grip a lot and doesn’t rub off on the equipment which is the reason a lot of gyms won’t let you use chalk.

I decided to try the trail size before committing to the full size. I must admit it works well at wicking away moist palms and adding grip. Like most reviews it goes on easy, not much aroma. Although it does take a good 60 seconds to full dry. In the gym waving your hands in the air trying to get it to dry faster. But its super light doesn’t feel like like you have anything on your hands. The only problem for me is it only last maybe 3 sets. Maybe the bars and dumbells,at my gym have rough knurrling on them? I don’t think so, but.. So i have to reapply about every 3rd set. I think I would tolerate reallocation if it dried much faster. Even with its quirks its still better and more convenient than chalk. But I think I would say with the trial size if I bought again. Small enough to keep in your pocket while working out.

4 stars because this product works 99% as advertised. Applying it is as simple as rubbing it on like lotion and then allowing 1-3 minutes for the product to dry. Holding your hands in front of a fan or walking with your palms facing forward speeds this process up a lot. It’s not as good as real chalk, but it’s close… certainly far better than bare flesh. It doesn’t sting if it gets into cuts either, a big plus in my book. Lastly, just about every gym aside from Planet Fitness will allow this, which is perhaps the most important detail about this product. No mess, no problem.
The only reason why I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it does slightly rub off at 405lbs+ of bar weight. This only occurs in patches so a couple reapplied 5-10mm drops in between sets does the trick. Great product for the most part, highly recommend this for serious lifters who don’t have access to chalk-bath gyms.

Alles richtig gemacht das ich endlich wieder dieses Produkt bestellt habe. Gerade im Sommer wo man schnell schwitzt und die Hände rutschig werden braucht man Hilfsmittel. Absolute Empfehlung!

Honestly, this is the best investment any Athlete can make! Yes, it can add up, and be costly. But if you are passionate for fitness, you will use Liquidgrip all the time, and will not regret paying its price because it is worth the value! I am focused in doing bodyweight exercises now. But in my powerlifting days, WOW! It makes a huge difference! What’s great is that it’s not messy when you go to a fitness club as chalk is not permitted to most gyms. For the best alternative solution to chalk, Liquidgrip is the best! You can use it for any sports – I promise 🙂

Works as expected. Provides great grip when doing dead lifts, hanging from bars, Ect. Added bonus is the smell. Kind of like coconuts. Lasts a while too. Great buy

This works really well for lifting weights. It’s not as good as regular chalk, but if you had chalk, you wouldn’t need this product. I have been lifting at a gym that doesn’t allow chalk but does allow liquid chalk, and this has worked great. I use it mostly for deadlifting. Like others said, it’s a kind of antiperspirant for your hands – they don’t sweat while you have this on. I was able to work up to over 400lbs for 5 reps without worrying about my grip.
You put on about a nickel- to quarter-size blob and just lightly coat your hands with it. You don’t rub it in like lotion, but rather wait for it to “set.” With enough on, your hands do look white, but it should just be the inside of your hands, so at least it won’t look like you’re wearing gloves. It slowly flakes off throughout the workout, so if you do a lot of work requiring grip, you could possibly need to reapply halfway through.
I’m not going to give up regular chalk, but I will absolutely use this at gyms that allow it but not chalk.
