When the price of eggs doubled in 2022, so did the price of egg white protein powder. I switched to this, to save money.
The egg white protein powder has a better amino acid profile. It’s denser so you use less. It makes a shake with a better texture and little better flavor, more like a milk shake.
This stuff has a bit of a chalky flavor and gives a grainy texture and more volume to a protein shake. However I found it to be the best of several brands. I flavor and sweeten the shake and the flavor doesn’t of the powder doesn’t stand out in a bad way.
But the difference isn’t big. It’s a good protein source if you also eat some tofu, seeds or nuts that day to balance out the amino acids. It works perfectly well at a much lower price.
There is an issue with rice absorbing, as I recall, two to four times as much arsenic from the soil as other plants. The arsenic can be naturally present or left over from past DDT use, fertilizer or other human activity.. Brown rice has, I have read, more arsenic as white rice. The package doesn’t say that heavy meals are filtered out or monitored. So that could be an issue for some people. I limit myself to one serving a day for this reason and plan to switch back to egg white protein powder when the chicken population recovers.

The ingredient list is great, but the taste is pretty awful. I tried to mask the flavor with berries, peanut butter, bananas…etc. but nothing seemed to cover the thick, chalky flavor. However, this is one of the only protein powders that has not made me bloat immediately. I don’t think I’ll be buying this one again.

A lot of the reviews on this listing are for the egg-white or pea protein. Confusing. So this one is for the rice protein. I only used it for blending smoothies in my ninja blender. It worked fine. It comes with a scoop for 1/4 cup which is 100 calories. It is unflavored, so you’d better mix it with flavored things to make it palatable. Overall, it’s a great option for those of us who need to use rice protein for smoothies, and at a lower price point than most of the containers of rice protein.

I tried everything with this product as I am interested in being healthier, gaining muscle, and have a nut allergy, but this product was not the solution. Not only did the product come with a nutrition label taped over the printed one suggesting that their original packaging’s information was inaccurate and they got caught, but it tasted terrible. I get it originates from healthy products, but even mixing it with chocolate milk and sugar among other things the horrible taste was dominant. This product was terrible and made me have more fatigue than my workout would. Not the refreshing protein boost one wants after an intense gym session.

This stuff has one of the most unpleasant mouthfeels of all plant based protein powder that I have ever tasted. I primarily use it in protein shakes. I’ve also used it a bit to supplement plant based stuff I make. WOW the chalk. Even when it constitutes 10% mass of something, you can feel the chalkyness in your mouth. I haven’t found a cooking, blending, or whatever method to that minimizes this.
Taste is fine. Tastes planty and powdery – just what you’d expect
The price is reallllly good. One of the lowest that I’ve seen so far for protein isolates at around 2.51 cents / gram of protein.

I just bought this for the first time this week, as I was looking for a replacement alternative for the Nutribiotic plain rice protein powder I usually use. (The price on it had gone up too much and was wanting something less expensive.)
Just tried Judee’s in my smoothie today, and I can’t tell any difference between the two products, so I’m sold on this one and will continue buying Judee’s instead (currently $30 for 3 lbs of Judee
s, instead of $37 for 3lbs of Nutribiotic).
Plain rice protein powder isn’t as tasty as other protein powders that have added “natural flavors” and artificial sweeteners in them, so if you’ve never had plain rice protein powder you may not instantly love the flavor…but that’s kind of the point – you get to have control over what you do add to it rather than eating a list of who knows what chemicals. Also, it’s great to add to oatmeal or other hot cereals as the taste blends right in 🙂

I am satisfied with this produce overall. Quality ingredients is what is most important to me. I don’t want to fill my body with artificial ingredients. That inhibits muscle growth. We need every advantage we can get to stay healthy and build muscle without causing damage or taking in poor ingredients that are Endocrine Disruptors. This product is one ingredient, brown rice protein. Boom! That’s it, that’s all you need. Organic and Vegan friendly. This product mixes easily in liquids, preferably in a mixer. Like most unflavored protein products, it tastes bad. Not to worry, the flavor is easily improved by mixing with juice or in a blender with spinach and fruit (the way I like it.) Will buy again and I recommend.

I have been finding the protein powder from rice until I got this brand, first time bought.
I have been drinking a protein powder from soy bean since I was 9 years old, and right now I am 35+ lol. Time flies, I had often bloating after I drank the usual brand, even though it was my favorite one, the company changed the original flavor ingredients. And I tried a bunch of other brands that they claim “organic, gluten free, vegan, plant base, and so on…” But I had not tried the protein powder from rice, that is how I started looking another brand.
This brand provides 18 amino acids, no add another ingredients, and 100% brown rice protein powder, which I love it, no flavor, no smell, just rice, that is it!
I mixed it with the oat milk and strawberry, and it came out pretty good like the original product. Please don’t change this product. lol I would like to enjoy this one for 26+ years as long as the oil brand I did. lol
