This is a two-month supply of 500 mg nicotinamide riboside capsules. NR, once advertised as a cheaper alternative to NMN got my attention after the whole discussion about a ban to NMN, and that’s the reason I decided to try this one out.
The capsules are easy to swallow, with no aftertaste that I could notice. I already had NMN built up in my body, so I cannot comment on whether one should expect a build-up period with this one (it took a couple of weeks originally for me to start feeling the effect of NMN…) Both are supposed to be potent antiaging supplements, but, obviously, that takes a long time to prove; however, I have to say that so far I feel the same effects as with NMN – mainly higher energy levels, and more “youthful” periods.
I have to say, I am one of the people who is not happy with the NMN ban. But NR seems a good substitute, and I think that this particular formulation is rather potent. That being said, and given all the mistrust for NMN supplements, I would have loved to see a third-party testing for any such product – it would just make me feel better, especially given the price increases in (all) such supplements.

It is confusing comparing supplements targeting NAD+ production for healthier aging. I’ve researched the difference between NADH+ and Nicotinamide Riboside+ (NR) to help me understand. Both are related to NAD+, a coenzyme important for cellular energy production and metabolic processes. Higher NAD+ levels improve cellular health, energy metabolism and longevity which is believed to lead to healthier aging, metabolic health and energy production.
NR is a precursor to NAD+ where NADH is a reduced form of NAD+. NR supplements are more stable than NADH, with NADH degraded quickly when exposed to light and moisture. NR also has more robust research suggesting it is a better choice for increasing NAD+ levels. This leads to NR being a better choice directly for NAD+.
This Codeage NR supplement contains betaine which effects cellular metabolism differently and counteracts the effects of osmotic stress. Trans-Pterostilbene is also included which acts similar to Resveratrol with antioxidant properties and potential benefits for healthy cholesterol levels.
The Codeage NADH+ Supplement includes 100mg of CoQ10 and a large dose of Vitamin B12 (500mcg, 20833% DV). D-Ribose is included in this NADH+ supplement as well, which is also involved in energy metabolism (ATP synthesis).
It may come down to the secondary ingredients deciding which of these supplements is best for you by reducing your overall supplements. Along with the 2 month supply, and high quality make both supplements a good option. I will be comparing the effects of both the NADH+ and the NR supplement and update this review if there are noticeable differences. These supplements should not be taken together, so this will take several months.
