When choosing vitamins, I look for organic, non-GMO, whole food options, which is why I gave these a try. Those tend to be more expensive than synthetic vitamins, but these seem extra pricey over regular ascorbic acid type vitamin C. I agree with another reviewer that I’m not qualified to say if the extra expense if worth it or not. But like that reviewer, I’m going to save these for winter use when immune systems tend to be under more strain, rather than take daily during summer.
Update: Vitamins are hard to evaluate over a short time. If you regularly take vitamins, it’s usually some-time in the distant future before you notice any difference, and it’s usually just because you feel ‘worse’ and happen to be able to associate it with a switch in brand.
I rarely, if ever, feel an “instant boost” with anything, but I notice that if I haven’t taken my personal NDA after only a couple weeks have passed, I start to feel a little drained. All that to say, I haven’t noticed any changes since I started taking these FIQ Whole C IQ — so that’s a good thing!

No matter how I try to take these they upset my stomach. Previous to this I used a powder that was mixed with water with no issues – these pills however seem to create bloating and churn my stomach. I have attempted to open the capsule and mix it with water and the taste is beyond my threshold for “good for me but tastes gross” and I almost died forcing myself to drink it. I have tried it with food, and without food – drinking lots of water, drinking just enough to get them down…. etc. So, if you are trying to increase your whole food vitamin C, go with the powered jigsaw whole foods one (it tastes yucky but tolerable and has no GI upset).

This supplement is a Amla fruit extract providing about 170mg of natural vitamin C per capsule. The capsules caused no adverse reaction in my initial testing. You simply cannot equate naturally derived vitamin C with the common ascorbic acid form. Ascorbic acid is usually corn derived and frequently comes from China. Natural vitamin C is what nature designed your body to use. I am not sure if it was necessary for the manufacturer to add potassium and sodium but possibly these additions do enhance absorption. Of course there are other natural C products out there and although this one is a bit expensive, it is a convenient way to ensure your needs are met. I would suggest taking the capsules spaced apart as vitamin C is used up quickly rather than following the bottle direction to take three all at once.

The supplement was well sealed when it arrived. It is easy to swallow and seems to be of high quality. Happy to have this as part of the supplements I take.

I do not discredit the benefits of Vitamin C, or the contents of this supplement. However, at $40 for 90 caps the price is atrocious. The bottle feels weird and the bottles wrapper feels like regular sheet paper that can be quickly torn off or smeared if wet. Just reeks of low quality. The pills themselves are what they are, I have nothing against them or for them and I’m sure they do well. But for the price, you’re probably better off buying a local brand and saving $20 or so.

This bottle comes about 50% full. I wish supplement companies wouldn’t do that so often. If used as directed it will last one month. I’d prefer they either put in two months’ worth or use a smaller bottle.
The “best by” date on mine is Feb 2026, so a little less than two years from now.
There is a very light, kind of earthy scent to the capsules, with a similar taste. They are easy to swallow with water.
I like my supplement bottles to say organic, non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested, and Made in USA. This just has the GMP label but doesn’t say certified. Sometimes the product page will specify some of those, but this one does not, nor does the activatefiq website.
I seem to take longer than most to see results when starting a new supplement, and am wary of companies and supplements I cannot verify. Their activatefiq website does have reviews from doctors who sell the supplements in their offices, and if you look up Formula IQ at the crunchbase site it has a working number for them. That gives me enough to move forward and see how this bottle works out. The price feels high for one month, but they have some other products I have my eye on as well. If this bottle works out I may continue on with them.

This is advertised as an all-natural vitamin C supplement extracted from amla fruit. I’m not sure being all-natural makes much of a difference as I tend to believe a chemical is a chemical no matter where it came from. But, if it’s important to you, take a look.
One thing a little different is that this also contains some sodium and potassium. So, look at those amounts and make sure they fit with what you need.
These are a standard-size hard-shell capsule with no particular taste or odor.
