As a parent seeking solutions to alleviate my child’s anxiety during bi-weekly shots at home, I had high hopes for this product. However, it didn’t provide the relief we were seeking. While it may not have been effective for my child, I recognize that every child is unique and it might work for others. Rather than letting it go to waste, I’ve decided to donate the entire box to my pediatrician in the hopes that it may benefit their patients who may find it helpful. Although it wasn’t the solution we were looking for, I remain hopeful that it could make a difference for others facing similar challenges.

My son had no idea he was getting a shot!

Was great for an adult but didn’t help the kids

I ordered these for IVF injections. The product does as described and “masks” needle pain for the most part. I found that using an ice pack or ice cube to numb the area prior to injection worked just as well. I may try to use this product in the future for my daughter when she gets immunizations, though.

It is unconscionable that I stumbled across “shot blockers” instead of this being used on all my children… and me! I lump this in with putting my naked newborns and infants on metal scales because an identical bunting wrap cannot be subtracted from their weight and it is not allowed to press the “tare” button on the scale. I am now the “Johnny Apple Seed” of shot blockers. I pass them out to everyone in my docs office, including and especially patients. Everyone expresses ignorance except the nurse who told me, “they are for pediatric patients”. Wait, did I just get called a “baby”?

Simple to use and is easily adjustable so the shot provider can do their job with minimal distraction. One side benefit is that you can place yourself in the line-of-sight so the patient literally cannot see it coming. For some patients, that can be a big help. If the patient absolutely has to see it, you can easily change to allow that to happen.
My patient said “please just hurry up and get it done” as the shot provider was preparing to withdraw the syringe from the arm.
Recommend applying a decent amount of pressure (it helps to apply it to yourself to get a feel for it; since they are hand-washable, it is easy to sanitize). Also recommend freezing/carrying in a container with an ice pack to keep cold right before delivering the shot. Helps to numb the area just a bit.

Had to do a 18g in the butt for 12 weeks and this helped so much. Easy to hold onto and do the shot at the same time.

My daughter is 7, and is very afraid of vaccinations. The nurse used it during her flu shot, and my daughter didn’t feel it at all. The nurse was also very impressed! Awesome product!!!!!!!!!!!
