Did not work. I’m upset I spent my money on this

I use melatonin almost every night, usually 5 mg does the trick. But this one has just a tad more, at 6 or 6.5 mg I think, and that little extra increase really makes a big difference. I have been falling asleep within half an hour, which is wonderful, and getting almost a full 8 hours per night. I even sleep through my 3 year old tossing and turning a bit better, because he usually decides to join me sometime after midnight. Whatever they’ve done with this blend to keep me sleeping soundly is really working well for my body. I trust this brand and usually buy their multivitamins at Costco when they have them so I feel confident about using other supplements they make.

Of course we prefer natural herbal solutions to help with sleeping issues, instead of synthetic pharmaceuticals. So, this product was worth testing. It contains many of the components that clinical studies have shown to have positive results. Some herbs were often considered sleep aids based on anecdotal history, but later discovered to contain natural compounds that tend to relax and calm, leading to more restful sleeps.
The significant other occasionally has sleep issues, with light sleeps and waking up during the night. This results in her being a bit lethargic during the day, especially the mornings. She took one capsule last night, and she slept through the night. Placebo effect? Possibly. But, it seemed to do the trick to give her enough calming that she had a more restful night’s sleep. And she’s very alert this morning.
Note that this product touts having 6mg of Melatonin per serving. The suggested serving is 2 capsules. Other similar products, with 3mg of Melatonin per servuing, base that on 1 capsule dosage. That’s partly the reason we opted for her to take just one capsule of this product. And, it seemed effective.
If you opt to take one capsule as the dosage, this container will supply 60 capsules/doses.
Based on a very short trial, this seems like an effective sleep aid. Accordingly, this product earns a 4.25 s- 4.5 tar rating, with a high level recommendation.

This sleep supplement works pretty good it has 6 mg of melatonin and valerian root which I find helps you dream more or you just remember them better. If you have never taken melatonin before you should start with a low dose because after awhile you will probably need more. This supplement has excellent ingredients all combined for a good nights sleep. I have always slept lousy but have been taking melatonin and getting a good nights sleep.

My wife has struggled at various times with difficulty falling asleep (and less so with staying asleep once out), so these are among the many pills she’s tried to help her out. These are among the ones that have worked for her, but her other goal besides falling asleep is getting a good quality of sleep (or in other words, not waking up with a headache). Through trial and error, she has found that particularly when it comes to melatonin content in pills like these, there’s a sweet spot for her, between 2 and 3mg, that helps her get to sleep and wake up feeling rested and headache free. Now, these pills contain melatonin (3mg per pill, or 6mg per serving) along with other ingredients (Valerian, L-Theanine, GABA, Chamomile), and while some of those could be considered “gentle,” I would be reluctant to call 6mg of melatonin a gentle dose. My wife is quite petite (around 95lbs), but it’s worth noting that I also take melatonin sometimes and I also find that more than 3mg, while it gets me to sleep, causes me to wake up with a headache, and I’m about twice her size. Friends who take it as well report something similar; melatonin supplements come from 1mg up to 10mg, and my friends have mostly reported that 2 or 3mg is the max amount that works well without causing problems. Of course, this is anecdotal evidence, not an empirical study, but I took a quick look at some empirical research and found one study that suggests that 1mg to 6mg is the optimal dose, though more study is necessary. All of this is to say that one pill has been helpful for my wife (and it’s what I would take as well if I needed it), but two pills would likely result in a headache, negating the “gentle” term in the product name.
As for the other ingredients, I would definitely describe valerian, passion flower, hops, and chamomile as gentle, and the other two may be so. L-Theanine and GABA are both amino acids that play a role in reducing anxiety and excitability. Both are naturally occurring (though it’s not clear whether these come from naturally occurring or synthetic sources). They’re likely not what most would consider “heavy” medicines.
Bottom line, taking one pill works well for my wife. Taking two (the recommended dose) would probably result in a headache in the morning due to the amount of melatonin. Still, it’s a good product overall, and it’s worth trying to see what dose works for you.
