My 18 month old seems to have hit her sleep regression and she is too young for melatonin so I was excited to give these a try to make bedtime slightly smoother. We’ve been using them for a couple of weeks now a few minutes before bedtime, 5 drops on a spoon.
I am not sure if is just because of the drops, but she does seem to calm down a bit easier. She takes the drops no problem so they must taste good, but you can also mix them into a bottle. The bottle is glass with a glass dropper attached to the top which makes dropping directly into their mouths not so doable. The drops come out easily but not too fast that you squeeze too many in. The liquid isn’t really thick and is dark brown so I would try and avoid getting it on any clothes.
The only reason I gave this 4 stars is that the bottle isn’t the most travel friendly since I’m afraid the top will leak, but otherwise I’ve been super happy with these!

We LOVE this tincture for our kids who have a hard time settling down for bed. This is non addictive (unlike melatonin for kids), and a great nighttime option. The flavor isn’t awesome, but you dont have to give much (for my kids- 5 drops is enough). I SWEAR by this!! I feel good about giving it to my kids, and do not have to worry about long term affects. Works like a charm!!

For starters, I am a mom of four and research healthy options to help our family live a healthy life. I do not like preservatives, and prefer to eat organic and natural foods whenever possible. We are not perfect, however I do not believe that a few Cheez-Its or cookies are going to kill my kids. With that said, I read many reviews and research the ingredients and also read the founders story and as a doctor I was impressed. Impressed enough to try this as we have and sometimes still do get out of our sleep routines with four kids at different ages. I gave it to three children, ages eight and two 4-year-olds. Yes we have twins! One sleeps all night and does not wake up groggy, doesn’t complain about feeling off or different, but did not like the taste. Another child did not like the taste, and the two different times I tried it, this child was up with a stomach ache within 30 minutes of taking it. Lastly, the third child seems to wake up no matter what I try and woke up as normal and hated the taste. Before giving it to my kids, I had taken it a couple of times and found myself extremely relaxed and had no problems falling asleep. I’m not sure what to think, but it’s not something I reach for in my cabinet.

My ten-year-old son has never been a great sleeper, but started having almost constant night wakings over the last year, sometimes waking at 2 am and not getting back to sleep until dawn, if at all. His behavior was off a cliff, with frequent meltdowns, an inability to focus, you name it. We tried everything: darkening curtains, humidifier, different temperatures, different pajamas, soothing night routine, soothing sleep sounds, exercise during the day, screen fasting, zero caffeine, melatonin, Valerian, theanine, etc. The only things that partially worked were Benadryl and/or sleeping with me in my bed instead of my husband. Neither of those are healthy, sustainable solutions. After reading about how California Poppy can be relaxing and help with sleep, I landed on these drops as one more thing to try. The first night, we tried the recommended two doses for his weight (10 drops each) and removed the Valerian we were trying. We only had moderate success that night. The next two nights, we used this in combination with the Valerian and he slept from 8 pm to 6 am: the perfect amount for his age. He is optimistic and refreshed. These are a miracle!
The only downside is that he hates the taste, so we have to give him some apple juice directly afterwards to get rid of the taste. He is so desperate to sleep, though, that he did this willingly. We did almost have to throw away a dose before we bought apple juice, so I tried it (I’ve been having trouble with sleep myself). The dose for a ten-year-old (10 drops) along with my usual Valerian worked for me! Miracle! Highly recommend this.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, I wrote this review too quickly. This product stopped working for my son after a couple of weeks. He seems to get used to whatever we try and revert to frequent night wakings.

I have bought this product twice now and continue to be very pleased with it. My daughter is five years old and I have been using it since she was 4 1/2 to help her calm down for bedtime. My daughter has always fought sleep from literally the moment she was born. This medicine helps her to calm down enough to fall asleep. I give it to her about an hour before she will be going to bed. I put 5 drops in about an ounce of water. She enjoys the taste (she says its lemony tasting) and looks forward to taking it every night. It has worked so well that I have started to give it to my three year old. The 3 year old doesn’t really need it but he likes to take it because his sister does. I only give him three drops in an ounce of water. The directions for dosing is on the back of the bottle so there is no guess work. The 1 ounce bottle lasted us 5 months with 5 drop dosage every night for one child. I would recommend this for the high-strung child who has difficulty winding down at the end of the day.
