Reviewing any type of supplement is always very subjective. Many times, it can take weeks or months for any benefit or side effects to be noticed. So, my review is directly related to my (or my wife’s) experience after using the product.
We enjoy adding mushroom powder to our morning coffee. The Focus Adaptogenic Mushroom Drink (Cafe Latte Flavor) is a good addition to our morning drink. The café latte flavor is smooth.
The only negative I can add to the review is that there is a residue left in the cup. So, it does not dissolve completely.

I did not like this drink mix. I ordered it for increased Energy level and health benefits that are supposed to be in it, however, I couldn’t get past the taste. It smells good and was hoping it would taste just as good. I put it in my coffee, but it didn’t taste good to me. I tried adding flavored creamer, that didn’t help. My husband felt the same about it, but my teen son said it wasn’t that bad when he tried it, so he is drinking it now. He just started so, hasn’t been able to determine a change in his energy levels or if the health benefits are noticeable. We are keeping track and will provide an update in 30 days from Jan 21, 2025.

I must admit I was skeptical at first about a mushroom powder. I’ve always taken mushroom pills, and have found them very beneficial, but I’m not a fan of mushroom flavor even though I know that mushrooms have a wide range of benefits. The powder is very fine and dissolved easily in cold water with very little effort required to completely blend it in. The hot chocolate flavor completely mask the mushroom flavor and tastes great. As far as benefits, the mushroom pills are fine, but with this mushroom powder you get so much more. It isn’t processed into a bunch of small capsules and you get a bigger serving. I’d gladly drink this daily for all the many benefits this powder provides. I highly recommend it.

Nutricost Nutrizen AM Focus Adaptogenic Mushroom Drink (Hot Cocoa Flavored) 30 Servings is easy to prepare, mixes well, and tastes palatable. It smells like hot chocolate but when I mixed it with water. It did not have the rich cocoa flavor that I expected. The flavor was mild but tolerable.
This mushroom powder is versatile and convenient. It is easy to incorporate into my dietary routine. I have tried it using water and on other occasions; I have used a packet of hot cocoa. Although I haven’t tried it with milk; I do enjoy it in my decaf coffee. So far, my favorite way to enjoy is with a packet of hot cocoa. It enhanced the chocolate flavor, added richness, and made the earthiness of the mushrooms undetectable.
This mushroom powder also offers many health benefits. The first time I tried it was late in the evening. I thought a warm cup of cocoa on a cold night would be a great way to wind down for the evening. Except after I drank it, I felt alert, energized, and focused. It gave me a nice even but unwanted energy boost that kept me up cleaning my house well past 2 am. Now, I am careful to drink this mushroom powder no later than 3 pm so it doesn’t disrupt my sleep schedule. In the end, I have enjoyed using this product and I am pleased with the ease in preparation, quality, taste, and effectiveness.

Such yumminess!! I am absolutely so impressed with the flavor of this mushroom drink. It is very tasty and easy to drink. The chai flavor is amazing, and the sweetness is just right. Not only am I getting a great yummy drink I am also getting great nutrition from the adaptogens from the mushrooms

Since this contains caffeine, and I cannot have caffeine after noon…. I have only tried this mixed with my coffee. Coffee is strong enough to hide the mushroom taste. I only really taste the cocoa in it when mixed with coffee and heavy cream. I personally wouldn’t want it with plain water. I think you should always mix cocoa with some sort of milk or mylk.
I wish it didn’t have the guarana in it, as that provides some 40mg of caffeine, I suppose they added it so that some people could use this as a morning drink on its own, without coffee. Even cocoa would have caffeine, though.
All in all, I like that it has a mixture of all the “good” mushrooms….the ones that are too expensive for me to buy and eat, and also are the ones that taste yucky to me if eaten. They taste good in Asian cooking but I’m not an Asian cook. I do love button mushrooms, and they provide much goodness, but I have to rely on mushroom drinks to get the good ones like Reishi, Lion’s Mane, Shitake and Cordyceps like this product has. I literally consider them miracle foods. They are fruiting bodies (which is the heads) and not just the stems and roots, which have less good stuff in them. Great stuff!

Great morning coffee alternative
I have been alternating between my regular coffee and this drink and I still get the same effect from this drink as my coffee
I normally drink my coffee black so this tastes a lot better than my black coffee so it’s a welcome change for me

I LOVE this drink. I cannot express that enough. I have tried so many mushroom coffee alternatives and most of them are AWFUL. This one is so different. It blends smoothly, it tastes fantastic, and it makes me feel good! It really ticks all the boxes. I definitely will be getting more. I am excited to try some of their other flavors and varieties. Grand-slam home run with this beverage!
