It really helped me sleep at night

I have tried another brand of this supplement bought from a brick and mortar store. Unfortunately, perhaps it is the formulation, but this does not really work for me. the other brand i can take an hour or 2 before bed and will be winding down by the time i get into bed. This is supposedly double the amount of the other brand I’ve used yet I don’t feel the effects unless I take 2 and am already wound down and in bed.
My sleep quality is usually very good anyway, I just need help sometimes as I work in the evenings and if I had extra work to do I’m still wound up by the time I get home and need some help calming down. Melatonin works for me but often I have to take more and more to feel the same effect and I don’t like that. Tryphophan on the other hand feels more natural as I’ve never had to up the dose and I have an older friend who likes it more, too.
Maybe it was just this bottle or the formulation that doesn’t agree with me. But this really didnt feel like extra strength in comparison to a lesser dosage and by a cheaper brand you can buy in stores.

Have been taking this now for 3 days, and I can’t say I’ve noticed a whole lot of difference. I might be sleeping a bit better late but certainly not in the first 2-3 hours, which is when I would be expecting it to kick in!

Rather than take melatonin every night, I tried tryptophan which helps your body make melatonin. It works.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from these, but they did not disappoint. I’ve been trying to adjust my sleep schedule since the new year and get to bed at an earlier time, but I often stay up watching TV or scrolling social feeds to take advantage of some much-needed alone/wind-down time. I have tried melatonin and it helps, but the effect is pretty subtle for me. Tryptophan is known as a substance that appears in food (most popularly the Thanksgiving turkey) and it is often blamed as the reason people get drowsy after a holiday feast. This has been debunked, though, as the amount of tryptophan in even a large serving of turkey isn’t enough to actually make us sleepy. So I was skeptical going in.
The rest of my day up until I took these was the same as any other day. I took the pills yesterday evening on an empty stomach, as directed, and settled in for an episode of Boardwalk Empire. Within maybe 20 minutes of taking the tryptophan, I started to feel that “jolt” you sometimes get when your consciousness is trying to slip into sleep. I wasn’t nodding off, but I was getting that jolt and I could tell I was ready to crash as soon as my head hit the pillow. I made it through the single episode and went straight to bed, whereas on a normal night I may have stayed up later and watched another. I fell asleep pretty quickly once I was in bed.
My Fitbit sleep score was 85, up from 77 the prior night. I was in bed and in sleep mode by 10:13 PM, as opposed to midnight the prior night. I had an hour and a half each of Deep and REM sleep, compared to less than an hour of each the night prior.
Based on the above, I give this my highest recommendation for anyone hoping to get more sleep. I’m not a doctor and can’t make any medical claims, but this definitely worked for me.
As an aside, the package says these can be taken up to three times daily, but I can’t imagine using this supplement at any other time than before bed. I would not be able to work or drive when using this!
