This nutraceutical combines digestive enzymes with aloe vera, licorice, artichoke and dandelion to help probiotic gut flora thrive in the intestinal tract. When taken with a standard (live) probiotic, Eaters Digest can help improve the performance of even standard-potency probiotic strains. My only detraction would be the inclusion of psyllium powder. Of all the fiber sources out there (and believe me, there are dozens), the manufacturer opted for the cheapest one, which is psyllium powder.
A common ingredient in products such as Metamucil, psyllium powder is not the ideal choice for many of us with sensitive digestive systems. Psyllium is known to produce gas and bloating in a small but significant segment of the population, myself included. So they should not have included it in an otherwise gut health enhancing supplement. Get it together, Eaters Digest!

I really like the mix of herbs this contains. I take a number of them separately for my stomach issues already so it’s nice having them combined into one product. Aloe Vera leaf is great for soothing the stomach. I swear by it. I really like the whole filtered lead juice but I also like to take capsules too. Ginger is well known for its stomach soothing properties. Marshmallow and licorice root are also said to have properties that can sooth the stomach and intestines. Psyllium is a fiber which is important for intestinal health. I believe Burdock is also considered a prebiotic fiber, but it has other benefits besides that (antioxidant). The heartwood extract (catechu) can reportedly be helpful for diarrhea and indigestion.
This also has a couple natural ingredients known for their diuretic effects – dandelion and burdock. So, be aware of that, especially if you are feeling dehydrated or have any medical issues (like kidney stones).
Also, be aware if you have pineapple allergies that this contains bromelian.
Overall it’s a nice, but expensive, product with a nice combination of ingredients.

Most digestion support supplements have probiotics such as acidophilus or Bulgaricus etc, but this formula comes at digestion support from more of an herbal angle. Many of these plants are familiar to me and most of them are known for their gut soothing properties. Aloe Vera is one of them. I’ve been using Aloe Vera for this purpose for decades and it really works. Bromelain, found in pineapple and papaya, is good for gut support and is an anti-inflammatory as well. Burdock and marshmallow root have traditionally been used as a tea for calming the stomach. They coat the stomach and intestines and are very soothing. Licorice has also been used traditionally to calm the digestive system. Rounding out the formula are artichoke leaf, psyllium seed husk (a great source of roughage,) dandelion root (good for heartburn, upset stomach,) ginger root, (another traditional stomach soother,) and heartwood extract, an Ayurvedic herb that is primarily an anti-inflammatory.
Together, these herbs act synergistically to soothe and protect the lining of the stomach and intestines. I have definitely noticed positive effects on my own digestive system with this formula.
Recommended dosage is 2 caps, which translated into cost is about $3 a day. I feel gut health is very important and that this is a reasonable price for something that actually works. Your milage may vary.

Two capsules a day is purported to help maintain a healthy gut lining and assist with proper digestion and overall gut health.
Although the ingredients are listed in searchable format, their sources are not disclosed; however, the bottle indicates the product is made in the USA with domestic and imported ingredients.
The white plastic bottle is coded for recycling as type 2 resin and helps keep light out for freshness. The bottle was sealed with a foam disk.
the twist-off cap is easy to open and close as it is not child resistant. It was sealed with shrink wrapping, for freshness and safety.
Reasonably well priced when offered at about $60 at the time of our review.
For the 120-count bottle, that’s a 60-day supply at about $1 per day.

I have been trying to find something that will improve my gut for some time. I do have one product that has helped quite a bit but was hoping that this might up things a notch or two. Unfortunately, this fell way short of my present products performance. Once I stopped using that product and substituted it with this it was only a couple of days and I could see that things were degrading. I kept on them thinking that it needed a couple weeks to take hold, but it never did and I finally had to call it quits.
It just did not live up to my expectations. It has the three main ingredients that I look for in a product like this. Licorice, artichoke and ginger extracts. The capsules are a bit larger than what I have regularly seen but not too much larger. (More should be better was my thoughts) Included was a 60 day supply of 120 capsules in a plastic resealable bottle. I am not sure that it is worth the asking price though. Just seems real steep for seniors that might be the ones that need this the most. Anyway, I am returning to the product that I have been using and at 1/3 the cost. Now my experience is just that, my experience. We all know that everyone respondes in their own way to this kind of product and yours may be different. It might be worth a try.
