I’ve been having issues for years and thought I’d never conceive. I’d go to the doctor every year and all medical test would come out normal. I wanted to try a natural remedy so…I bought this in like Dec of 2020. I was having constant breast pain, a possible hormone imbalance and painful periods with bleeding for about 9+ days. I Google that taking 800 mg for a cycle or two could help with breast pain if it was due to high prolactin. I assumed that was my issue and It did correct the breast pain; but it caused my periods to be much heavier and even longer so I stopped within the same month. Fast forward to May of 2021 I started taking the actual 400 mg on each morning of my cycle for the next 5 months. My periods went from 9 days to 5 with the cycle 28 days. Even the pain during periods were just about gone. I’m nearly 12 weeks pregnant now. I thank God because he gave us all the medicines we need through nature. I hope this helps someone.

I was trying to dry up my milk supply from nursing. I read this could help but it didn’t help me. I didn’t notice anything while talking them but I also take other vitamins

I bought this chasteberry fruit cos i am honestly convinced it is more original than other brands out there. I had bought Nature’s way brand and that smelled like rubber (maybe from the capsule). But swanson brand has the distinct vitex smell. And it regulates my hormones.
First month, my period was late by almost 5 days. I didnt fret cos i have read that vitex does that, but subsequently, my period went back to normal.
Also, since i started using it, i didnt experience leaking bossom which is characteristic of high prolactin. When i stopped the drugs for about 2 weeks, my bossom started leaking again, but when i commenced taking the drugs, it stopped. So i will continue using it for now, to manage my prolactin level.

I haven’t confirmed yet, but I am now three days late and suspect pregnancy. I’ll be sure to come back and update this review with the outcome.
I bought this product back in September 2011 but I’ve been hesitant to try it because I suffer from short, severe bouts of depression. But I also had been suspecting a hormone imbalance because after I had my Mirena IUD removed in February 2010, even though my hubby and weren’t trying, we weren’t preventing either and I had not gotten pregnant in almost 2 years.
After thinking it over for 5 months (yes, it took me forever to finally decide I wanted to try it), I began taking the vitex in February of 2012. I started charting and added a couple of different vitamins to my regimen and my second cycle began March 13, 2012. Fast forward to today, it is April 10, 2012 and I have yet to start. The last hpt I took was April 5th (Thursday) so I am waiting a week to test again. Hopefully I will finally see a positive test after waiting two years! I know I ovulated earlier in my cycle but due to the vitex working so well for me, I had a secondary estrogen surge a few days after I ovulated and my temps dropped really low so I thought I had no chance this cycle at all. Color me surprised to find that I am now 16DPO and still no sign of having a period.
From about 8DPO to 14 DPO I had very severe nausea, heartburn, food aversions, hot flashes, erratic heart beat and a whole host of early pregnancy symptoms. I started testing, thinking for sure I had implanted. Did my research after I got three negative tests from 8DPO to 12DPO (my LP was 12 days in February) and found out Vitex agnus-castus can and WILL mimic early pregnancy symptoms during the two weeks between ovulation and your monthly flow’s arrival. So then I thought for sure I was out again and had got myself excited for nothing.
I was expecting my monthly friend to arrive over the weekend and thought I would start my new cycle by Easter the latest (4/7/12 or 4/8/12). I am still waiting as of today and feel pretty good about getting a positive test Thursday. I have lowered my dose to one pill a day and plan to continue to take it until the end of my 1st trimester, if a pg is indeed confirmed. I am very happy I did try this product and will continue to take it until I DO confirm a pregnancy because it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. Lower levels of prolactin and FSH which causes your progesterone to rise and estrogen to level out. I feel confident that I was estrogen dominant based on my problems and issues with getting pregnant.
Before taking this product, I would recommend knowing the risks and side effects first. Talk to your doctor. Especially if you have hormone related problems or have any conditions that effect your dopamine levels. Vitex will not work for every woman, no matter how potent it is or how many times it’s worked in the past. Some women do not respond to it and some have a downright dangerous response to it. If you do decide to take it, be aware that you can experience a very severe and negative reaction to it within the first week. If you suffer from any sort of depression, I would suggest talking to your psychiatrist or whoever regulates your meds first. I am unmedicated for my depression, so that was one of the reasons why I thought about it for so long. It did not negatively affect me but I did start taking other supplements to help with depression and hormone balancing and I am sure those helped.
All that being said, I would not recommend this to just anyone. I don’t think we should play around with our hormones without knowing the possible side effects first, but I would say this herb is FAR MORE potent than they say it is. Yes, I am sure for some women it won’t affect them so quickly, but I know it affected me after taking it for about two months. All the symptoms I experienced were side effects from increased progesterone.
I hope that helps any woman considering this supplement. Do your research or talk to other women about their experiences. Consider both the negative reviews and the positives because everyone’s story has merit, though remember to take everything with a little grain of salt as well and don’t forget to have hope! 🙂

I have a lot of fibrodenomas (benign breast tumors) that cause me a lot of pain, not just in my chest but radiating around my upper back and up my neck as well when they swell. It’s worse during PMS and mid-cycle, but the results for me were almost immediate when I started this supplement. The pain is dramatically reduced and so much more tolerable already. I also noticed less severe cramps and a shorter, lighter menstruation. I’m so glad I discovered Chasteberry! This supplement has brought me so much relief that I haven’t had to use painkillers since I’ve started taking it – and for someone that’s always sore with (usually) excruciating chest pains and migraines, that is saying a lot.
If you have fibrodenomas, definitely give this a try! The relief is worth every cent.

Only heard of this herb this year & wish I had heard of it sooner. However, when I looked at places such as Mayo Clinic and other reputable health information services, the recommended daily dosage is 400mg for the majority of ailments the herb can help. Many pills offered are far above that, making them likely to be detrimental, not beneficial. The price for the number of pills is very economical, as well, and it is much simpler to use premeasured pills than to try to calculate dosage for dried herb and tea. There is no after taste, either. So far, so good. I’ve used other supplements by Swanson in the past, and the quality always seems good.

My hormones and cycle have always been a little chaotic. I recently had my first child after10 years of trying. My husband and I decided we want another and after 4 months with no results I ordered this to help my hormone fluctuations- it worked! Thanks to these and my ovulation tracker (which I never used to be able to use!) we are pregnant!
