I have been looking for a more convenient way to consume black seed oil as a antioxidant however I found that trying to consume the seeds themselves was very inconvenient so when I saw these capsules I decided to order a sample. In the listing of the product description it does say that these are made in the USA however there is no mention of that on the product itself so 2 stars off for that however at least the safety seal was functional and intact. One other thing that I noticed was interesting is that normally oils such as fish oil would be in a gel cap not a split capsule. For me these are easy to take and I also did not notice any taste or aftertaste even several hours after taking them.

From my wife: We always try to keep black seed oil on hand as an anti-bacterial. We use it along with other natural antibacterials. We do use it sparingly though because black seed oil is hard on the gut. So it’s something we add if we’re not having luck with other natural supplements. This is a good one for us because it’s gluten free and the price is reasonable.

Typical dosage for black seed oil that I see is 1000-2000mg per day, so keep in mind you will need to take 2-4 of these pills per day to reach the same dosage. With that said, these capsules definitely smell like cumin oil, so I do think they are legitimate. I found them easy to swallow with no digestive upset afterwards.

No stomach issues so far. I try to incorporate black seed oil in my diet but the taste can be unpleasant so I definitely appreciate the capsules. I have been taking one daily.

Supplements help close the gap between modern nutrition levels in our food, and the levels that were there when I was young. But, in my opinion, the supplement industry has both some of the highest integrity companies, and some of the lowest. So I try and give a detailed enough review that you can determine for yourself if you want to try this one out or not.
This bottle less than half full, which is one of my pet peeves with many supplement companies. If used as directed it will last for 45-90 days. I would prefer they put in at least 60 days’ worth and/or use a smaller bottle.
The “best by” date on mine is Mar 2026, so a little less than two years from now.
The capsules have a light herbal (?) scent to me and are easy to swallow with water.
I like my supplement bottles to say organic, non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested, and Made in USA. This says non-GMO.
I look into the supplement companies I use because I’ve come across so many shady ones. The mydailydefense site is functional. It is mostly a storefront with not many details on the company, sourcing, manufacturing, etc.
The bottle says Daily Defense is a NutraFirst company; the nutrafirst site is functional and lists many different brand partners, including others that I take. At first I thought they were a supplier to all these other brands, but it looks like these brands might all be trademarked by NutraFirst. The site says all their products are made in the USA, and that they have over 25 years of experience, which is a plus. Another plus would be if I could find a phone number for them.
I seem to take longer than most to see results when starting a new supplement. I like the ingredients, except for the silicon dioxide. So many companies say they need to use fillers like this, but the manufacturers of the highest quality supplements I know refuse to use them. I would also still like more transparency from this company to feel entirely comfortable taking and recommending their products, but they are more transparent than a lot of supplement companies out there. And I have taken a number of their supplements so far, so I’ll continue with them until I find something even more transparent or can learn more about this company. I’m on the fence between a 3 and 4, so would give this a solid 3.5 (which rounds up to 4).
