Solgar is my go-to brand when it comes to vitamins. A friend of mine told me about this antioxidant. It is very easy to swallow. The flavor is not bad (I have had worse). I have been using it for a while. I think it works.

I take one or two of these per day to help with a heart arrhythmia. Taurine is abundant in heart muscle. I like that this company, Solgar, uses primarily glass bottles or paper packets for their products. Glass is much easier to recycle than plastic. It is also better for the consumer, as there are no contaminants that leach into the product and no plastic to go into our oceans and atmosphere. Going forward, I intend to buy more of my supplements from this company.

My dog’s cardiologist–my dog has a heart condition so he sees a pet cardiologist–recommended I start my dog up on taurine supplements. He gave me a list of brands that are of good quality and control. This brand was one of them. The price is definitely doable and I feel safe feeding these to my dog under the guidance of his veterinarian cardiologist. He doesnt even notice the capsule sprinkled on his food. Hopefully the supplment has been helping him, I will find out in a couple months during his recheck echocardiogram. Please note, do not give to your pet without your veterinarian’s guidance.

We’ve tried several brands of taurine, none of which the body seemed to absorb or use effectively. The brand Solgar, 500 mg, was the only brand that effected a change, that quieted…& many times (most of the time) completely eliminated… the auditory voices in the head. The dosage was high however. Simply taking one or two capsules did not work. It’s all personal to every body but 2-3 capsules every so many hours seemed to do the trick. Keep on top of it. When the taurine seemed to be wearing off & the voices returning, 2-3 additional taurine taken at that time worked to once again quiet and/or eliminate them. Also combined the Solgar brand with the NOW brand. The NOW brand, also 500mg, really didn’t do much on its own but since it was purchased to try, rather than waste it, took 2 of the Solgar & 1 of the NOW & it helped as well. Taurine might need to be taken every 2-3 hours but it works!! The Solgar brand was the key though. Without it, there wasn’t much effective change. It also seemed better to take multiples of the 500mg dose of the Solgar brand vs a 1000mg dose of something else! This is the largest bottle I could find of the 500 mg—it’s 250 capsules. Plan ahead. You won’t want to run out. Seriously.
