i have been using Health From The Sun Black Currant Oil 1000mg softgels for about 3 years. In the past, I have always purchased the Sun Black Currant Oil from local trusted health stores. I have purchased many other types of health supplements from Amazon with complete satisfaction over the years.
In late November, 2018, I ordered 3 bottles of Health From the Sun Black Currant Oil 1000mg and they arrived on time undamaged. I am in Nebraska, so these oils were not exposed to excesive heat in late November and they were opened immediately upon arrival. I opened a bottle for immediate use and the softgels would NOT move at all — they were all stuck together like a rock and stuck to the bottle and they smelled VERY VERY bad/rancid. I was immediately skeptical with the smell and that I had to use a butter knife to stab them repeatedly until they loosened up (very strange – have never had to do this). I opened the other 2 bottles to see if they were any better and they were the same way — very bad/rancid smell and all stuck together like a rock. I took one and after about 3 hours I endured about 10-12 hours of itching all over my body. I waited a week and tried to take another softgel and the same thing happened again. There is something wrong with the softgels I received.
I have since purchased the same Sun brand Black Currant Oil from my local health store and I am taking those pills without any problem (they are older expiring 10/19, and ##212404). My Amazon bottles show an expiration date of 06/20 and ##210512 that follows the date (which is different than the bottles I got at my local store). Hopefully no one else is experiencing these issues with this supplement. I’m rating this 3 stars but I do know this product to be a very good 5-star performer helping my dry eyes, skin, and hair. I am waiting to hear from the Healing From The Sun Company.

I really like this black currant oil. It has been 5 months and my hair is starting to get a little thicker. Just was not sure but gave it some time and now I am just seeing a little progress. I am looking forward to see what it will be like after 12 months of use, sure glad I gave this stuff a try.

I Have to say this is working pretty good, my hair still continues to thicken and fill out on my head, so far so good. What I wanted to add is that I noticed that black current oil has made my skin very smooth and healthly looking. I used to have some very dry skin on the side of my nose and I started to think that I might have skin cancer for being in the sun over the years (I am a red head and burn very easy) but this dry skin patch has completely disapered since I have added this to my daily routine. Nice added benefit for 3 months usage I think.

I read a lot of reviews but don’t get a chance to write a lot of them however this one is totally worth my time!
I was having TERRIBLE issues with dry eye to the point I couldn’t even put my contacts in some days. I had eye drops and they did nothing. I am a healthcare provider who hates taking medicine so I always look for supplements first. After some research I realized I needed something containing ALA and GLA to help promote natural eye lubtication. I tried this, I take 1 capsule at bedtime. No funny taste or heartburn. After 3 days I could put lu contacts back in and wear them all day. No problem and no eye drops!

It’s really hard to tell. I don’t know if my hair is breaking or I’m getting new sprouts of hair, but it does seem to make individual strands thicker and prevent/mend split ends for sure. I’m on my second bottle, my third month and hope to see more results. I don’t see any changes in my nails. But if nothing else, I’m happy for the heart health part of it. Prompt delivery. No complaints and will use this for years to come.

This product absolutely works. Those who say it doesn’t are not using it long enough. The doctor that presented it on the Dr Oz show said it will take approximately 2 months to see results. It does take that long & after 2 months the results are undeniable. Hair becomes thicker, stronger, and shinier. Nails become stronger & my eyelashes even grew longer. When I went in for Botox in my forehead, my plastic surgeon asked me if I was using Latiese (the brush-on product used by plastic surgeons to make eyelashes grow). Don’t hesitate to try using black currant oil if you’re in need of something to thicken or repair unhealthy hair. It has worked wonders for me!

I just got this a few days ago. It appears to be grossly out of date. The numbers are a little worn off bit it appears to have expired 04 of 2010! The zero could be a six as the part that would loop to make a six is worn off and can’t tell what it says. Will call co on Monday to see if there is any way they can verify if it is really that old

At first I thought I saw a real difference in my hair and nails. I take it along with other supplements including fish oil. I’m not so sure now, but I think it has other things to offer. I think my eyes are not as dry. I’m going to continue to take it, because I think it’s helpful, maybe just not the dramatic results that I was hoping for, that others seem to experience.

My daughter and I started taking this supplement 2 months ago and we can see the difference in our hair and skin. I first saw Dr. Oz talking about Black Currant oil on his show for natural supplement to help with hair growth and so far all the hype seems to be true.
