This Fish Oil is Wonderful! Woo Hoo! I haven’t taken fish oil supplements in a very long time because they usually make me burp up the rancid taste of fish for hours, and cause the worst acid reflux! These Natrol soft gels Do Not do that! I was worried about taking them, but was pleasantly surprised to finally find one that does not upset my very sensitive stomach! I love the stuff! Thank you Natrol! I would give this 10 stars if I could!

The lab score for Natrol Omega-3 is 62.5 out of 100 for this supplement, a B-. These area’s ranked well: ingredient safety, price value, product purity and nutritional value. A tad lower on the scale was label accuracy. Projected efficacy was low on the scale. As far as efficacy my personal experience is measurable. In three months I lowered my Triglyceride level from a high 215 to a normal 155 by taking two Natrol softgel caps per day, no other diet change and no unpleasantness.
Overall Natrol is the best bang for the buck and rated well out of the 53 over the counter available fish oil supplements that were clinically tested. The fish oil supplements that were rated higher were much more expensive..

I’ve been taking Natrol Omega-3 Fish Oil since May 2011. I’ve always heard about how good omega-3 fish oil is, so I decided to try this product. I admit, I had nothing to go on when I first bought this over 2 years ago, except for the reviews here on Amazon. I like how the pills are easy to swallow and have no weird tastes, which are two of the main reasons I bought this. It has a slight lemon flavor so that probably cancels out the fish taste that other brands of fish oil may have. And I’ve never had any fishy burps. I work out 5-6 days a week and run about 3 times a week.
Directions: Take 1 softgel, two times daily, with a meal.

Why four stars?
Although the softgels are a lot easier to swallow than other pills and tablets, it is kind of big. I know for some people it is easier to swallow pills with just water, but I always have to take it with food (which is what you’re supposed to do with this product). However, the one issue I that bothers me the most is that I’ve found out if you take too much Omega-3 fish oil, it can thin your blood making you prone to things such as nose bleeds. I used to take it two times times a day, but back around April 2012, I had a nose bleed one morning after just waking up. So I’m not sure if it was from taking this, but ever since then, I have cut down my usage to 1 softgel every other day and haven’t had any problems. So please consult your physician before taking this, especially if you are taking medication that thins your blood.
Overall, Natrol Omega-3 Fish Oil is good. It is fairly cheap and lasts me a long time. I’m not sure if it really has improved heart, eye and bone health for me. There are several articles online that have different dosage recommendations for omega-3. As for me, I take about 3 softgels a week or 3,000mg of omega-3. A bottle of 150 softgels lasts me about a year. So if you are looking to try a fish oil supplement or switch to a better one then I recommend this.
