I saw a lot of talk around this product so I wanted to test it for myself. I understand it comes in different formats but this is a really thick resin. As a Brit I enjoy the love-it-or-hate-it Marmite, so the appearance was already familiar, but this is next-level thick. It seems to get slightly thicker or thinner based on the ambient temperature, it was more manageable in the summer but becomes more tar-like in colder temps.
They suggest putting it in a warm drink, or even just hot water, but I didn’t want to mess with that, so I tried it directly. It’s an interesting taste – slightly sweet, with hints of burned coffee, and an earthy flavor. It dissolves quickly under your tongue, and you only need a small amount – the included wooden sticks show the dosage. The sticks soon got discolored so I changed to using a teaspoon. There is an aftertaste, but it soon fades.
I made myself take it once a day for almost 2 weeks to allow for everyday ups and downs.
As for the benefits, this is regarded as a miracle-worker by many; for me, I noticed some improvements in my digestion (less bloating) and in my joints, knees especially. Whether coincidentally or not, my hemoglobin measure at a blood donation was better than normal, so I assume iron is also found in the Shilajit.
With a product like this, that supposedly contains 80+ trace minerals, there’s really no way to determine the potency (or even presence) of them all, but I’m hopeful that some of the active ingredients are helping my overall well-being. Importantly, I didn’t notice any bad side-effects. It seems that Fulvic Acid (largely from soil, so that explains the color and taste found here!!!) is a major component in Shilajit, and also promises many benefits from muscle growth to altitude sickness.
I’ll continue to use it until it runs out, then I might switch to the capsules to see if they have the same effects. I understand this doesn’t ‘expire’, though a Best-Before date in 2026 is listed on the box. Given that the resin seeps out of rocks in large part of Asia, I assume it’s already hundreds of years old already?! As this iw well-tolerated by most people, I recommend giving it a try.

This product is sooooo hard and thick that it is almost impossible to get it out of the jar. I rarely use it anymore. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Started taking this and changed my diet and eating schedule, along with the elimination of soda and proper nutrition and portioning and I feel GREAT!
Plan on getting more soon and continue using it
My parted has even noticed my weight loss and plans on starting to take it as well
