Kimchi Postbiotic – This is just a ho-hum gut pill? I’d say not. Containing 1.2 grams of fermented kimchi juice extract in each serving, these premium gelcaps will provide three billion postbiotic cells to populate and feed the healthy microbiome gut bacteria within the GI tract.
I like these little helpers as they are essential to processing digested food into a high energy fuel, all thanks to the friendly mitochondria of authentic Korean kimchi, long known for its healing properties and support of immune system health.
Here’s what really turns me on about this product. Instead of perishable kimchi that requires refrigeration, these convenient kimchi extract gelcaps are easy to swallow and stored at room temperature.
Gaia Herbs grows and harvests their ingredients from their certified organic farm in North Carolina. I believe this is a high quality supplement that will serve you well for keeping your gut microbiome in top working order.

Supplements help close the gap between modern nutrition levels in our food, and the levels that were there when I was young. But, in my opinion, the supplement industry has both some of the highest integrity companies, and some of the lowest. So I try and give a detailed enough review to get to know the company and product better, to help you determine for yourself whether or not you want to try this one out.
This amber glass (nice) bottle comes about half full, which is one of my pet peeves with many supplement companies. If used as directed it will last one month. I would prefer they put in more capsules and/or use a smaller bottle.
The expiration date on mine (THANK YOU for not putting it on the bottom!) is Jan 2027, so about 2.5 years from now.
There is somewhat of a scent to the capsules, but nothing near what it would be if I were eating kimchi. They are easy to swallow with water.
I like my supplements to say organic, non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested, and made in the USA. This says organic. The product page says purity tested.
I look into the supplement companies I use because I’ve come across so many questionable ones. Their gaiaherbs site is functional and quite informative with awards associations, etc. They began in 1987. Their phone number is on the site, though you have to navigate to it a little bit.
I seem to take longer than most to see results when starting a new supplement, but I’m impressed with the company, and love the supplement. I’ve wanted to start eating things like kimchi for a while because of how healthy they are, but I struggle a lot with it. Now I don’t have to! And not only good ingredients, but I’m glad they don’t use the fillers that many companies say they need to use, but the manufacturers of the highest quality supplements I know about refuse to.
I’d like the monthly price to be lower, but to be confident that you’re getting a quality supplement from a reliable company is worth at least part of that, and if it helps you meet your goal for taking it, even better! And part of what it helps me do (though this isn’t the most important part) is not each kimchi =)
Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.

Interesting. I make kimchi but it is hard to consume all the time or have conveniently. This is interesting. As soon as you open the bottle.. it does reak of the smell strongly! The gelatin capsules are very easy to swallow. It says postbiotic so the natural bacteria from kimchi (usually a lactobacillus type) has been made inert but from the data in recent years, the inert bacteria is also effective in the gut.
So this is a much simpler (and lower sodium) way of taking in some of the benefits of kimchi!
Based on odor and brand, quality should be very good. As of yet I do not know what the effects will be since I just started taking this. It seems fairly priced vs making kimchi myself, so I find this a nice health supplement option.

Like many supplements, it’s hard to tell what really works and what doesn’t. I noticed a slight difference but seems like it will take long term

Fermented Kimchi in a bottle? Love this. This is the most interesting supplement I’ve ever taken. There is definitely an odor when you open this bottle and it’s not for the faint of heart but wow, the benefits are unmatched. The bottle arrived with all the expected safety seals. The pills are easy to take and there is definitely an odor and aftertaste but it doesn’t last for too long. When I take these I know my body is benefitting. I absolutely recommend.

The capsules themselves were fine – they contained a liquid (which I assume is kimchi water) and had no strong smell or aftertaste. However, the lack of noticeable results was a letdown. I took the supplement as directed, finishing the entire bottle, but I didn’t experience any improvements in my digestive health. It’s possible that this supplement simply didn’t work for me, or that my gut health issues require a different solution.
