I have been taking Berberine supplements for about 6 months now at the recommendation of a holistic doctor. I’ve been using the Sports Research brand consistently for about 2.5 months and it is by far one of the better brands I’ve tried. It took a couple weeks to start feeling/seeing results, but now I can definitely tell if I miss a day. I will be sticking with this supplement for a long time!
The Good:
-Pills are easy-to-swallow capsules
-My insulin resistance bloodwork has drastically improved (from a 19, down to a 14)
-The “food noise” seems to disappear and I don’t have as many cravings
-I have lost 18.4 pounds in 2 months
The Bad:
-The pills definitely have a smell to them, but that is typical of any berberine supplement I’ve taken
-There is a weird aftertaste, but this can be combated by drinking more water when taking them
As with any supplement, definitely check with a doctor/medical professional first, but if Berberine is recommended this Sports Research supplement is the one to take!

I started taking this product to help with blood sugar control as PCOS makes me more prone to blood sugar issues, however it made my digestion rather unhappy. Does it work great for some people? I’m sure it does. However, it’s not a product I will be using in my usual supplement rotation.
