Our kids call this “magic dream juice” because it keeps them from having bad dreams and leg cramps at night. We have been buying this stuff for years and will keep buying it!

I am always looking for good tasting and good for you supplements. My 6 year old son does not drink milk, so I figured he could use a bit of calcium in his diet. He has tried calcium kid chews, some were good and others were pretty gross, but he has been doing excellent with Barleans liquid Omega 3 so I thought a liquid Calcium supplement might be a good choice.
When you open the package, it looks like chalk was melted, it is a very white (think white paint) color and the consistency is not too far off from that melted chalk theory.
Anyhow, when I first gave a spoon to my son, he said “it’s gross” but here’s the deal….I tried it and said “yum, this taste like orange soda!!!”
It really did too.
Now, for all you health nuts, don’t flip out or pre-judge, my son only drinks water and homemade fruit smoothies at home, but when we go out, we have had our fun share of the soda machines. His favorites are root beer and orange soda…..
So, that got him interested and he tried it again and said “It does taste like Orange Soda!!!” and he now loves it. He looks forward to taking it every night (as it’s a good time to take calcium) and I am happy that he is getting a calcium supplement that I don’t think he will get sick of anytime soon.
I love the Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin d, and Zinc mix as well. It’s a good combination and a good percentage of the 4.
Will definitely order this one again and highly recommend it for any kids that like the taste of orange soda….

I think this is a great product. I have checked the vitamin-mineral combination of other brands (as well as if they have the more absorbable form of the supplement) and this brand is one of the best ones out there. I’d like for it to have more magnesium per dosage (literature suggests the importance of more Magnesium in our diet) but I can get a separate magnesium supplement to reach my desired dose.
I have given this to my child for almost a month now to help with attention/focus and in combination with a good multivitamin and other supplements, we are seeing big improvements! Do some research and find out what dosage would be effective for your needs because I think a big part of folks not believing or seeing the benefits of vitamin/mineral supplements is that they don’t take an effective dose. With the way our food is produced now, the regular dose might not be effective. Don’t give up on supplements – they help and in many cases help tremendously when taken in the amount that your body needs, which may be more than the recommended daily dose.

We’re on the side of the fence that doesn’t believe milk does a body good. Our pediatrician feels the same. That said, calcium magnesium is important to growing toddlers. I settled on this brand but honestly have mixed feelings about it. It contains ‘natural flavors’. Natural Flavoring is one of the (24) other ingredients that doesn’t always contain MSG, but they often do or create MSG during processing. I wish there was better labeling. I’m sorry to say I don’t know for sure if this does. I contacted Child Life regarding this and received no response; which, IMO, is worst thing a company can do.
MSG ‘enhances’ taste by increasing the sensitivity of your taste buds. It’s used to stimulate appetite and is addicting. Research confirms that MSG consumed by lab animals causes brain lesions of the hypothalamus. Glutamic acid (present in MSG) is neurotoxic and kills neurons by exciting them to death. There’s more info out there on MSG if you do a little research. It’s found in 12 other labeled ingredients (why is this even allowed?!). We try and eat clean with no processed food most of the time so our contact with MSG is very minimal. For that reason we do still give this to our toddler. I understand lots of kids out there probably will turn their nose at something that doesn’t taste good. This is a whole different topic. I feel there should be an option without the flavorings. I showed the bottle to our pediatrician who was fine with the supplement. She had us increase the amount (based off our toddler’s age/weight) because it’s pretty diluted. You should consult with your pediatrician before upping the dosage.
We also give our toddler Nordic Naturals Infant DHA and Biotics Research Aqueous Multi Plus – neither contain MSG. (The Biotics Research multi is the first vitamin I found that doesn’t contain MSG.)
