I don’t put this in the water tank with the water for the horses to drink, as they don’t like the taste and their water consumption reduces significantly. However, I use this product to clean the tank. I empty the tank, pour in one capful of Water Trough Protector and scrub. This product immediately dissolves the algae. I’ve never found anything that works as quickly and as good; it rinses easily out of the tank with water. Love this product!!

A friend of mine posted on facebook that she had a good result. So I figured I would try it. I cleaned and filled a 100 gallon rubbermaid through a good week ago and so far zero algae! The horses arw drinking it. I was worried they would not.

Easy to use and really cuts down on the algae gunk in the water trough. Does not totally eliminate it but what remains is easier to scrub out.

I have been using this enzyme horse trough protection for several years now. It keeps the trough from getting gunky, and makes it easy to clean. My horses love to wash their mouths out in the trough, so they get dirt and grass bits in the water. When I run out of this product, I notice a big difference in how much more work I have to do to clean my trough weekly.

I have tried many products over the years to keep my horse tanks clear from barley hay to all kinds of pellets. The horses do not seem to mind the taste of this and I do not have much growing in my tanks. The water is not crystal clear to the bottom of the tank but when I get a small sample of water to examine it is clear. There is no moss or algae growing on the inside of the tank. I recommend and will purchase again.
