When considering this product, I originally saw another review saying this tasted disgusting or like vomit. I personally considered how unfair it would be for them if one review tanked the product just because of one bad review. Personally, I would rather have a product be what it says it is, rather than be spiked to taste differently with ingredients that don’t have the desired health effects. I researched the product further and had a feeling the product was probably not as bad as they were making it out to be, so I decided to try it out and give the product an honest second perspective.
Taste:
It’s tough to describe the exact smell. I would say it smells a bit like a rancid nutty smell. I don’t say rancid in the sense that the product is actually rancid, but it smells similar to rancid olive oil. It’s not a very strong smell though. When tasted directly on the tongue without diluting it at all, it tastes more like powdered dried mushrooms, as if you dried up mushrooms you put on pizzas and ground it up into a powder. This shouldn’t be too surprising given that mushrooms are a primary ingredient. It doesn’t taste gross, bad, or disgusting at all. It’s not even a very strong or potent flavor really. It’s actually somewhat bland. I mixed some in some water and it was fine. I also tried mixing some in chocolate milk and couldn’t really taste it at all. My kids and I tried some earlier today and they agree with me. It’s not bad at all.
It seems to be exactly as advertised. The powder is a very light brown color with lighter white color specs here and there, indicating that it is truly a blend, again, as advertised. Normally, I use the product for more days before posting a review, but I believe it would be fair to the company and potential users who would appreciate a review of the basics first. I haven’t used the product long enough to attest to the health effects yet. I look forward to seeing the impact over time and will definitely report any significant effects.

This adaptogen powder blend appears to be good quality and the ingredients are fine as far as I can tell. I put a scoopful in a smoothie and even with the other ingredients, the weird and unpleasant taste of this product was very apparent. By itself, it may be truly wretched. For me, it was bad enough that I will probably not take any more of it. Of course, the taste may not be so offensive to others, but simply does not work for me. My rating of three stars is an average of what I think is actually a quite good product together with the horrible taste that puts me off.

As someone who likes to take supplements for supporting health and overall wellness, I like to do some research into the company and ingredients as supplements are not regulated by the FDA for their safety and effectiveness. Results can be subjective as well to the person and their dietary needs and different health profiles.
This company Roundhouse Provision is based in California. They’re a small business with some popular selling supplements. The ingredients of this one contains a good blend of adaptogens including Organic Mushrooms, Rhodiola, Astragalus, and MCTs. It uses maple sugar as a sweetener, and silicon dioxide is an agent to prevent all those powdered ingredients from sticking together. The ingredients are simple and natural overall. Like a lot of natural or herbal powders, the taste is somewhat unpleasant. I don’t really mind it though.

Smells and tastes a bit strange- kind of earthy, kind of chemical-y, almost industrial. I don’t like it but I don’t hate it. Mixing this into something with a strong flavor, like black coffee, has worked better for me than trying to drink it on its own. I have only tried this cold but imagine it would taste very bad if hot.
I’ve tried a lot of mushroom supplements on the market and am familiar with most of the ingredients in this, but have never tried Rhodiola or Astragalus. I can definitely feel a boost similar to what I’ve gotten from other mushroom blends, but with an overall sigh-of-relief “aaaahh” feeling of well-being that I don’t usually get from mushroom blends, probably from the other ingredients.
I can tell the difference in how I feel drinking this vs not drinking this. Since this is currently 50 dollars USD at the time of this review, I will probably drink this only occasionally to save it for days when I feel like I could use the extra boost.
Since I was uncertain if I would be allergic to any of the ingredients or how they would affect me, I applied a little to the inside of my arm and did not get a rash, then tried a very small amount and waited to make sure my body handled it okay. I also started small in my doses and gradually built since I didn’t know how this would affect me.
As with any supplement, it’s important to check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking anything like this as there is always the potential for interactions.

The taste of this product is awful . I Mixed it in various liquids with no help to make it taste better!! It leaves a vomit taste on my mouth. I can not finish using this product. I understand if l can’t return the open product but l will not use the 2nd jar purchased.
