This is my first Amazon review, after hundreds of purchases. However, I had to take a moment to write a review in hopes of benefiting others. I recently purchased a book on Amazon called “Feeling Blah” by Tanith Carey. It explains what Anhedonia is (look it up) and her supplementation recommendations to help not feel so “blah”.
I purchased Mucana, along with a couple of other types of supplements, and after three just three days I noticed that I was less anxious, less irritable, more talkative, less stressed, and perhaps a little happier. I isolated this from my other supplements to identify which one was making me feel this way and concluded that it was indeed Mucana.
It also seems to help my energy and cognitive ability and doesn’t feel like a stimulus in any way – meaning no jittery feeling. My husband also takes it and has noticed improvements in other areas physically, and energetically – including libido. It is now a part of our daily routine.
I am female, almost 52 years old and my husband is 56. I generally take it in the morning before eating anything, which entails good high fats. The morning routine seems to help with my work day. On the weekends, I take it a little later – especially if I have social events or entertainment to do – as it seems to make me more social.
Anyhow, I hope this helps anyone decide whether or not to give it a go. I am against most pharmaceuticals and always on the hunt for natural remedies for everything. This is now in my top 10 daily supplements to take.

I’m giving it three stars because it is clear it helps many people, but I wanted to take the time to write this warning because this product made me feel as if I were drunk or taking a long time to wake up from anesthesia. I have ADHD, which studies have been revealing is (among other known and unknown factors) a “dopamine disorder”, but they don’t yet fully understand why dopamine doesn’t work as it should, because it’s not simply a case of raising dopamine, it also has to do with the receptors. Anyway, I am no expert, and that is my layman’s explanation, but this product raises dopamine and was terrible for me. As soon as I got off it, I felt normal again.

The only Mucuna product that doesn’t give me a raging headache. I’ve tried numerous brands, but I could never take it long enough to see if it worked because of the awful pains it gave me (within 30 mins of taking it). I trust Himalaya, in general, and I used several of their products… but this one is by far the best Mucuna I’ve tried. Actually works, with zero side effects.

I got this to try for my Melasma I read online that Melasma could be caused by a deficiency of dopamine a hormone produced by the pituitary gland. I’ve tried everything for my Melasma. Obagi system lightened it but when I stop using it Melasma darkens. This is my second day taking this product and I already can tell that my Melasma is lighterI feel a sense of well being and have energy. I take a antidepressant that has stopped working I didn’t want to switch to something else because of all the bad side effects. Now I feel that if this product doesn’t wear off I could wean off the Prozac we’ll see. I notice going to the bathroom more but That’s a good for me because I suffer from constipation. So far I love this product. I take 2 caplets one in the morning and one in the afternoon. What I want everyone to know is it’s actually working on my Melasma. My Melasma It has been the most depressing and hardest thing I’ve dealt with and I never gave up because I knew that there’s a God Jehovah who loves me and he would not let me suffer with not finding out why I have Melasma because it’s only by knowing why that I can then take steps to combat it. He answered my prayer by giving me a plant his creation.

i’m sharing my experience in case it helps you.
i took this specifically for the antidepressant and energetic side of it and in only a week, i am feeling better. i struggle to say that about other supplements.
i have had zero energy for (or want to do any) tasks around the house since 2020 and my energy and mood are improving nicely.
i did not experience any of the other digestive, etc. issues others mentioned.
not sure how long i will continue taking but am very happy so far. will update if anything changes.

I have been trying supplements to help get out of this funk I’ve been in after turning 40. Mucuna made me feel like a new me after taking it the first time. I feel good. I’ve been taking it for a couple of weeks now, and I am cleaning my house and making dinner again. I am connecting with friends again. I am dreaming again, which I hadn’t in a while. I’m not saying this stuff magic, and I’m sure everyone is different, but it’s worth trying.
