    I add about a 1/4 cup of these to 6 gallons of my red wines when I brew from kits. It adds extra character to Kit wines that are often on the bland side. The Elderberries add the extra tannin that a good red wine needs. I soak them in a cup of hot water and add them. along with the water I soaked them in, to the must. These dried Elderberries were a good price.

    I thought i would note that this brand was NOT full of stem and leaf filler (which are apparently toxic and I’ve read reviews of other brands that had TONS of stems!). I use this to make elderberry syrup…. So perhaps that’s helpful to others
