I thought I’d give these a try because I’ve been managing my mild IBS for years and had read that Enzyme supplements can be beneficial to folks like me. That said, safety always comes first, so here’s a brief review of the Enzymedica company and my personal safety rating of their Transparency, Accountability and Quality.
Transparency (high): The Enzymedica name as a trademark with activity that goes back to 2010, but appears to have “New Owner” activity in 2022. They have a robust web page which includes headings like “Meet our SAB (Scientific Advisory Board), and “Meet Our Team,” which includes identifying their CEO. According to a 2014 article in an online “Herald Tribune” Enzymedica was “founded in 1998 by two brothers, Tom and David Bohager. Tom Bohager maintains an active role as its chairman and formulator-in-chief (in 2014)”. They have an Enzymedica UK branch. They also appear to be “socially responsible” (for more info see their web &page).
Accountability (high): Enzymedica claims that “Our facility at Enzymedica is Good Manufacturing Practices certified by NSF International, an independent, third party certification company”. Not only do they claim it, but I can verify it. Easily (which is so unusual and refreshing that it almost brings tears-of-joy to my eyes). Also a 25 year history speaks to a degree of accountability and quality.
Quality (high): These tasty mint/papaya tablets consist of Organic Papaya Juice Powder 50 mg and Papaya Complete Enzyme Blend 16 mg, and Organic Alfalfa Powder 2 mg. They have a mild scent. According to the 2014 Herald Tribune “When you look at the success of Enzymedica, the No. 1 factor is the efficacy of our product. “When you take an Enzymedica product, you feel the difference with your next meal, and it is noticeable.”
I’m looking forward to seeing if these make any difference in my gut issues and will report back anything I notice.

I tried papaya enzymes before but this is my first time trying this brand. The bottle arrived arrived in perfect condition. There was protective plastic around the cap and also a security seal on the lid. The bottle contains 240 tablets, with a serving size of 2. The pills are quite tasty /minty and easily dissolve in the mouth – although I believe they can be taken with water as well. I typically take it before my largest meal – but have taken them after meals as well. I like that the ingredient list is detailed and specifies the types of enzymes it contains (protein digestion, carb digestion, fiber digestion and fat digestion). I also like that the ingredients are natural and/or organic. Overall, a reliable enzyme option.

These work fantastic and taste amazing. They work so much better than Rolaids or Tums. Chew 2-3 and in about 15 minutes, no more bubbly, gassy, upset stomach .I’ve ordered a couple different things from this company and was very happy with both items. They know what they’re doing. It’s great quality.

This arrived double sealed in a plastic white bottle with an expiration date of 10/2025. According to the label, the serving size is 2 tablets to be taken before or after meals, which is nice because I often forget until I’ve already eaten. Label states more may be taken as needed. Bottle contains 240 chewable tablets. Tablets have a sweet fruity/minty taste and dissolve quickly in your mouth. Label also states these contain NO gluten, milk, casein, soy, egg, artificial colors, fillers or flavors and are made in the USA with global ingredients. This papaya complete enzyme blend contains enzymes to digest proteins, carbohydrates, fiber and fats.
***Note: This contains Xylitol which is categorized as a sugar alcohol and is HIGHLY toxic to dogs–so please be mindful and keep out of reach.

I tried to find a papaya chewable digestive enzyme without maltodextrin as an ingredient. This product fit the bill, but boy do these taste terrible! UPDATE: I have received excellent customer service from the seller of this product. That means a LOT!
