I started using ALA again after stopping a few years back. I am older and need all the help I can get fighting free radicals and mitacondrial deteriation. Alpha Lipoic Acid is a very good anti oxidant that will help. The 500mg is the dosage I usually take and have no adverse effects. THis brand seems to be good. I will continue to use it and will reorder.

I really like how easy this product is to swallow and that there is no taste or after taste. This is a 4 months supply which is amazing. I love that you can take it on empty stomach. With all the potential benefits from alpha lipoic acid, the product is definitely one to consider when discussing supplements with your physician. The product claims on the Amazon site say it is non-gmo and certified organic. I have not taken the time to look into the company at this time regarding certifications, where the product is manufactured, and third party testing. I would research this before deciding to repurchase for longer term use, but overall I have not had any adverse issues taking this product. As far as any positive effects, I have not noticed any yet. My energy is good because I take B vitamins daily so I am not sure how much this product is contributing to that.

First of all, I’m glad that this supplement comes in a large bottle with 120 servings, giving you a 4 month supply. This is not only convenient but also cost-effective. The recommended serving size is 1 capsule per day, making it easy to incorporate into my daily routine.
One of the main benefits I have noticed since taking this supplement is improved nerve health. I have struggled with numbness and tingling in my hands and feet for years, but after taking this supplement for a few weeks, I have noticed a significant decrease in these symptoms. It may be just a coincidence, but I had to peel back the large bar code label to see that this product was made in PRC (Peoples Republic of China), which in itself is not neccesarily a disqualifier. As a registered pharmacist, I am well aware that many of our supplements and raw materials are sourced from China. I am also aware of the many issues which have arisen in the past with products cheaply manufactured in infrequently, if ever, inspected international facilities. Unfortunately, there are additional red flags with this product- there is no FDA certification of compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, and I cannot find any indication that any lab testing for content, contaminants or microbes was conducted. The USDA organic label usually applies to foods, and, does not state who the accredited certification body is, which is legally required. All these deficiencies put together have this product going to the landfill, there are other ALA products available.
