This bottle of CoQ10 capsules arrived double sealed, which gives me extra confidence in the safety of the product. There is no smell at all that I can detect. There is also no strange aftertaste. They are easy to swallow. The main thing to distinguish these capsules from some others is the addition of BioPerine. Some research that I have seen indicates that it may increase CoQ10 absorption. The dosage of this product is 100 mg per capsule, which seems to be on the lower end of the range in similar products, but since there is no established recommendation per day, you’ll need to reach your own conclusions on that front. I’m satisfied with this product and will continue to use it.

Ubiquinone aka CoQ10 is an antioxidant that we all produce and have in our bodies us at all time. It is an electron carrier that helps shuttle the electrons through the transport chain (which is how we make energy at the cellular level), so it plays a crucial role in our energy production. Ubiquinone, such as the one in this product, is the oxidized form of CoQ10, while the reduced form is called ubiquinol; the two forms are supposed to cycle to and from each other in a set of redox reactions. As we age, these reactions lose efficiency in a downward trajectory, suggesting a justification for supplementation. There is a lot of debate which version of CoQ10 is better, reduced or oxidized; not sure if the verdict is in on that as there is always conflicting info on the topic. The oral bio availability of CoQ10 is quite poor, unless it is provided in a softgel with some form of fat, which is not the case in the Amazing Formulas version. HOWEVER, Amazing Formulas has formulate this product with bioperine, the patented form of piperine (an alkaloid from the fruit of black and long pepper), which is added to improve bioavailability but is also an interesting compound on its own and can be taken as a stand alone supplement. Piperine is often an added ingredient to supplement formulations for things that don’t absorb well. Piperine helps improving bioavailability of CoQ10 and many other drugs or supplments, by modulating metabolic reactions via certain cytochrome enzymes that we all have, which are responsible for metabolizing all foods,supplements, drinks, drugs, etc. that we put down our hatch everyday. SO, that is a plus that Amazing Formulas circumvents the shortcoming in bioavailability with this added ingredient to help us absorb the supplment better.

While I do believe this product is deserving of only 2 out of 5 stars, I am not saying that is a bad product or that you should avoid it at all costs. As a consumer myself, my goal is only to help other consumers decide if this product is for them or if they should look elsewhere. With that being said, I would recommend to look elsewhere for a CoQ10 product to anybody who asks.
Inferior Quality: CoQ10 should be consumed with oils or fatty foods. CoQ10 is highly lipophilic. This simply means that it can only broken down by fats and not water. That’s why most CoQ10 supplements are sold as “soft gels”. The CoQ10 is suspended in oil inside the gel. This product is made with rice flour (not fatty). They do add BioPerine to help with absorption, but I’m not sure how significant that helps. The company could have at least mentioned on their bottle that this can be absorbed better if eaten with a fatty meal, or something fatty. They do mention that it is “preferable” to take with a meal. I have received other products from this company, and I know that they can do a great job explaining the benefits and uses of a product on the bottle. So I’m not sure why they don’t do the same for this product.
Cost: I took off another star for price. Considering that this uses rice flour and not an oil-suspension soft gel, I think this product should be cheaper. There are some great soft gel products out there with the same amount of servings, same dose, and cost the same or even cheaper.
Credibility/Third Party Testing: This brand claims Third-Party Testing. But does not specify by who or where. It would be nice if they made testing results readily available, so the consumer knows what they’re getting in their bottles.
Overall, this is my opinion, but I think others would benefit looking at other products.

I like that they added black pepper with this. I know you’re supposed to have pepper with many supplements, because it helps them to absorb more efficiently. I didn’t know that Q 10 was one of them, but even if it’s not pepper is certainly not going to hurt.
This is 100 mg of Q 10 per serving, which is definitely on the high end, and one serving is one capsule. There are no noticeable odors, although there is a mild, rather unidentifiable taste. It tastes, for want of a better term, like a vitamin! That lightly plasticky, lightly powdery flavor that most generic vitamin capsules have. They are easy to swallow, not overly large and, again, only one needed daily.
The label is hard to read, so for your information the other ingredients are the vegetable cellulose of the capsule, vegetable magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, and rice flour. And there is a made in the USA label, although no other certifications or claims. Specifically, Made in the USA in an FDA regulated facility in South Hackensack, New Jersey.

Having taken this CoQ10 supplement for four weeks, I find that it is easily digestible and that there is no after-taste as with some vitamins and supplements. The addition of peperine as “bio-perine” makes this supplement more absorbable. The capsules, though large, are not difficult for me to swallow. All in all, a good supplement, in my opinion.

This supplement is vegan, non-gmo & made in the USA. CoQ10 is a very good antioxidant with Bioperine having anti-inflammatory properties.
I like that I only have to take one capsule a day. This is a 4 month supply for a fair price.
