I take astaxanthin, and zeaxanthin, to help ward off macular degeneration as my father had it and he went completely blind, and now 2 of my 3 sisters have been diagnosed with it. There is no cure for this awful disease. About a year after I started taking 12mg/day of astaxanthin my prescription eyesight improved from -6.00, which I had for 40 years, to now a -5.50. Not a big improvement but definitely in the right direction.
Astaxanthin not only helps with vision, but is one of the most powerful carotenoids you can take. It also helps moisturize your skin, making it softer, reducing facial wrinkles as it has done for me, and helps reduce UV damage. It helps with reducing pain and inflammation, has anti-cancer protection, reduces cholesterol, protects the heart, and reduces the likelihood of dementia and Alzheimer’s. It’s hard to believe that this small capsule has all of these health benefits.
Your doctor will never advise you to take this because he’s not allowed to (not a prescription or OTC med). He probably has never heard of it either. Why take chemical-laced prescription meds, with side effects, when you can take far healthier natural remedies?
I strongly encourage you to research the benefits that astaxanthin can provide for your particular situation. I think you will be amazed. I purchased this product because I am paranoid about losing my eyesight as I age (51). My eyes feel great but I haven’t noticed a difference either way. That is positive since this is a long-term investment in my eyes and they haven’t deteriorated at all.
However, I am writing this review solely because I noticed that I started losing weight that I could not explain by a change in exercise and diet, which were steady. I started taking this product in mid-August 2024 and now on November 7, 2024, I have lost 8 pounds in less than 3 months. When I am pretty good about what I eat (not perfect), the weight just comes off. I weigh myself every morning. I starting researching what I changed in August and I believe that starting this supplement is what catalyzed the change. All of the weight loss has been fat, I feel great in my workouts and my muscle mass has maintained perfectly. It took about two weeks before my weight started to steadily decline.

The bottle is huge for how many pills come in it – it is like 1/4 full. Nonetheless I counted the pills and had 29 instead of 30. I recounted them to make sure and then had my husband count. It’s not that big of a deal but makes you wonder if it was ever tampered with?
