I have been trying to take better care of my eyes as I age. I was therefore excited to try a supplement for eye health. This one has the usual key ingredients for eye health especially lutein and zeaxanthin that can help maintain eye health. Time will tell the efficacy of the supplement. But so far so good. No adverse reactions. It is easy to take (i.e. swallow) and there’s no weird smell, taste or aftertaste.

Nutri Lutein 20mg Eye Vitamins Complex Review
I have been taking vision supplements for about a decade and maybe even longer. The Nutri Lutein brand has significantly more Lutein and Zeaxanthin than my previous brand of vision supplements as well as at least four other additional ingredients. These capsules have a safety seal under the cap which is so important. The expiration date is stamped on the bottom of the bottle and mine is 12/2026 which means they give you more than plenty of time to take these capsules before they expire. These look like an average size capsule to me which means they are not difficult to swallow at least for most people I would guess. Even after taking another vision supplement for so long I really don’t know for certain if it or any other supplement helps me. Both my parents essentially became blind in later years of their lives. I am now 72 and I can still see 20/20 with glasses and haven’t had my cataracts removed just yet so I am thankful for what to me seems like wonderful vision so I plan on continuing to do vision supplements. I do hope the additional ingredients in these capsules will be even more helpful to my eyesight.

Excellent key ingredients eye support formula… A nice basic dose of the well known, well researched, lutein, at 20 mg’s per 1 capsule, is a good start.. but where it gets very interesting, is that 2nd ingredient zeaxanthin… a full 12 mg’s per capsule.. which I’ve been taking lutein and zeaxanthin for years now, and while the brand I’ve been using the last 2 years, has 40 mg’s of lutein, it only has 2 mg of zeaxanthin … so this formula has in effect, 600% more of that key ingredient. That’s great. Not to mention the supporting nutrients that no doubt play an important role in eye health support, from what I understand. And here’s a big clue on what kind of ingredients this brand utilizes in it’s formulations… first off, the zeaxanthin, it’s not only a significant amount, more than I’ve seen in any other brand with lutein, but it’s a branded ingredient, which means it’s top of the line, as I see it. Very cool. And here the other big clue this particular brand is doing things right… the “type” of folic acid… they use methyl-folate, as opposed to the standard, inferior type of folic acid, used by most everyone else… when you see a brand that pays attention to key nutrients and they have the insight to use superior key ingredients, even though those ingredients increase the production costs, it shows that their interest lies in the real betterment of their customers, and it’s not just about profits, in my opinion. Another key ingredient that highlights the judgement of this brand, and this formula, is the type of vitamin E used here… while ideally you’d have vitamin E with mixed tocopherols, most all brands zero in on the most studied component in the vitamin E spectrum…the “alpha’ part… but there’s also beta, gamma and delta… but again, it’s common to use just the alpha component of vitamin E… the point is, this brand is uses the “D”-alpha form, not the “DL”-alpha form… which tells me a whole lot… DL, you see, denotes the ‘synthetic” form of vitamin E, where as just the “D”, means, it’s natural, as I understand it. I do not want dl-alpha vitamin E in any of my supplements, and when searching for a good multi vitamin.mineral, this is a key aspect I look for, along with the presence of the before mentioned, “branded” ingredients, and the proper form of folic acid. Anyhow, an excellent over all, broad spectrum, complete eye support formula that pays attention to the important details, and it’s made in the USA, which all adds up to greatness. Great product.

Do they get the lutein and zeaxanthin from marigolds or something else? I’ve never seen a label for eye health supplements that didn’t say marigold on it. But the only ingredients listed on this label are vegetable cellulose and rice flour, which are not a source of these nutrients. The law requires them to list all ingredients on the label and they didn’t do it, so we don’t know what we’re actually getting. The price is amazingly cheap too. The listing doesn’t let us ask the seller a question. Buyer beware.
