I was surprised that this has almost no odor. All of the other products with NAC have a distinct odor. The caps are fairly large and may be difficult to swallow for some people. I feel it is too expensive. There are less expensive high quality products available.

I got this because I take NAC for the health benefits it may possibly have especially with the Liver. Out of all the supplements I take NAC is by far to me personally the most important one I take. And my reasoning for that, is not that difficult imo considering the way NAC may possibly work. NAC is thought to be a precursor to Glutathione. That is considered to be the strongest antioxidant we have that our bodies make. To put it in comparison it is thought to possibly be stronger than Astaxanthin which is 6000 times stronger than Vitamin C. It is for this reason imo it is sometime called the ‘Master Antioxidant’. And unfortunately Glutathione can be added to that list of things our bodies possibly make less of as we get older. Now many people opt to attempt and achieve healthy Glutathione levels by taking it directly. I recently saw a great presentation on explaining the possible problems with that. Besides the difficulty of getting it past the digestion process, there presents the bigger problem of you possibly disrupting the delicate balance of this powerful antioxidant. Considering how powerful it may possibly be, the scenario of too much may be way worse than too little if an overactive immune system resulted. With NAC supplementation however it is the body deciding whether or not to make it ( Glutathione) possibly with the NAC precursor and if it so decides to do so, NAC possibly provides elements required for the natural synthesis for it. This way the natural balance is thought to be possibly kept in check by the body for glutathione production. The reason I personally like this so much for my liver is the natural function of Glutathione is to possibly protect the body from free radicals, oxides, and heavy metals and to help eliminate poisons and pollutants. A stated I think personally NAC is the most important supplement I take. My Liver test results have been fantastic with all my test over the last 20 years or so and that’s about how long I’ve been taking NAC. Probably longer I think. This brand is one the best IMO for any supplement they make imo. They legitimately Third Party Lab Test all their supplements. So many times I see a brand claiming it but good luck in actually seeing it. When a brand states it has done third party lab testing but doesn’t allow you to see it, then your basically still at the ‘Trust Me’ level imo. And let me tell you, I unfortunately learned my lesson with that as I have bought many fakes unknowing at the time only to find out later. With ProHealth you don’t have to even ask for it ( lab results). They have it posted in the seller’s pictures for you to see. And do note the 600 mg capsule came in at 654 mgs ( on that particular test) which is of course more than what is claimed and I’m all smiles with that no doubt. This is spot on with the dosage I like as I take 600 mgs 3 times a day for a total of 1800 mgs. I don’t really feel anything when I take NAC and just hope my body is using all it possibly wants and doing what the studies seem to indicate may be possible. With this brand I have the peace of mind that I’m using the real thing and no worries with poor quality product. Its for this reason I use this brand for many of the supplements I take. I definitely recommend this and Hope this was Helpful.

NAC is a cold-and-flu-season essential at my house. We take it at the first sign of nasal congestion and it helps to prevent clogged sinuses.
Lately I’ve been thinking about taking 600mg NAC along with 1000mg glycine to increase glutathione and help combat aging. Studies on GlyNAC are promising. Or I might take extra collagen with the NAC instead of a glycine supplement; about ⅓ of collagen is glycine, so taking collagen should boost glycine levels. I’d need to get the levels right though.
NAC is often cycled to avoid developing flat mood (anhedonia) and possible pro-cancer effects (because strong antioxidants can reduce intracellular reactive oxygen species, and ROS are used by the body to remove cancer cells). Therefore I plan to take NAC with glycine/collagen using three-week cycles, with two weeks “on” followed by one week “off”.
Prohealth is a supplement company that focuses on longevity and anti-aging. They also offer testing kits related to healthy aging through their website. Their website shows a certificate of analysis, showing that a sample capsule contained over 654mg of NAC, exceeding the promised 600mg. However, I didn’t see any mention of contamination testing, or how frequently the ingredient batches are tested; that information would have been appreciated.
The blue Prohealth bottle arrived with a tamper proof zip-off plastic overwrap. No glue-down seal under the cap. A large wad of packing cotton kept the capsules in place. The bottle was a little over ½ full. The capsules have a slight, sharp odor, which is typical for NAC. They are medium-large, under an inch in length, and have vegetable casings. The bottle is stamped with a lot number and expiration date; the expiry date is 05/2026, or 19 months from date of delivery.

These NAC pills don’t stink or taste bad like other brands, as it should be. I’ve researched the quality and lab testing of ProHealth and feel that I can trust them. I’ve tried a handful of their products over the last few years and have always been happy with the effects. This NAC seems to be another good choice. The only thing I didn’t like is that the bottle cap is sealed with plastic around the outside, but there’s no safety seal across the opening once you take the lid off for the first time. It’s unusual for supplements to not have this seal. However, the outer plastic wrap was fully intact around the lid, so I still feel reasonably safe consuming these.

i am not one to ever take recommended dosages or use the same supplements everyday. i take a variety for a variety of reasons but i always look for quality, purity, and testing, and this supplement met all the marks and says it is just N-Acetyl Cysteine which is supposed to be better than N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine and offers extra support when you need an immune system boost or if you would like to increase glutathione production.

One of the ways I was told to evaluate NAC for quality is to ensure that it “smells like a porta potty” or that “opening the bottle feels like opening a portal to hell.” There is sulfur in the compound so it tends to smell like rotten eggs.
I am definitely getting egg in the smell although not quite rotten. I see that these capsules were cut with rice flour, which may have masked the typical stench a bit. But yeah, don’t be alarmed by the smell, it’s normal.
Other than that, the capsules are medium size and the dosage is typical at 600mg per 1-capsule serving.
Overall these look like a promising NAC supplement and if the porta-potty stench is a dealbreaker for you, these have slightly less of that smell—more like deviled eggs that have been left out for a bit.
