A lot is out there regarding the cognitive and energy benefits of supplementing ALC. I have yet to see a noticeable difference in energy levels or cognitive sharpness, but everybody is different and it might be that it will take longer for me to see these differences.
A note of caution: The serving size on the package is 500 mg. This is very small amount of something in powder form. Now I’d much rather have a smaller serving size than loaded with fillers, but since it’s such a small amount, I’d strongly recommend a scale that can handle mg, or some measuring spoons that are fractions of a teaspoon. At such a small dosage size, a sized scoop should really be included, in my opinion.

After using this for the third day, I noticed a change in my ability to concentrate. It completely changes the game when it comes to losing weight. I’m not hungry at all. My wake-up and sleep routine are both good. I used to have difficulties sleeping and would often wake up with migraines. Since I started taking acetyl l-carnitine, fortunately those have stopped.

I had a TBI (traumatic brain injury) the past year that I’m recovering from and I’ve added L-Carnitine to my regimen to help with my cognitive function and it’s ability to boost nitric oxide to help with blood flow. I just add a half tsp which is 500mg to my morning drink..which btw dissolves really well. I love WHYZ products cause they are very cut and dry and they do not participate in deceptive marketing with there products, like so many supplement companies do these day’s. This product actually works. I can feel more energy in my body throughout the day whenever I take this. There is mental clarity also. I’m generally a sluggish person in the morning, My mind takes a while to function. But now I can go the entire day without a nap after taking this and I’m totally alert after my shower. This is great for me.

I haven’t really touched it because there’s no scoop and having to measure it out every single time is just a pain. You need to have a scale or something to even take this so unless you have that or are willing to get one otherwise don’t get this.

Wasn’t quite sure what to expect when ordering this. We’re taking other memory support products so really didn’t feel comfortable adding more “multi” products to the daily routine. At this point (about a week into using the product) we don’t have any observations on effects or lack thereof. As a vegetarian, however, we’re pretty sure we’re not getting enough l-carnitine (normal source, meat, eggs, dairy).
Product observations – it arrives in a re-sealing “envelope”, as easy to open as any. We choose to use scissors because our luck in “pull” opening similar envelopes usually results in a cloud of powder and a little cussing : ) The powder is fine , consistent white. It has almost no odor. It has a bitter-sweet aspirin-like taste. It blends well with juice and into smoothies, protein drinks (when we can remember to add it in…hopefully that will improve!)
Negatives – the 500 mg dose recommendation. We don’t have a scale that measures in milligrams. Online resources say 500mg = 1/2 teaspoon. However, different powders, solids etc have different densities and therefore 1/2 teaspoon may be just right, too much, or too little. Would be nice if the company provided conversion information or a included a properly calibrated measuring spoon

Acetyl L-Carnitine is an analog of L-Carnitine, a non-essential amino acid. Acetylation may be expected to help this form of L-Carnitine cross the blood-brain barrier. Here we have 125g of it in powder form, ready for encapsulation. Though it has other uses, I’m using it as part of a nootropic stack.
For obvious reasons it’s difficult for me to quantify the benefits I’m getting from doing so that are solely attributable to this product, especially while I’m still tweaking dosages. Anecdotally, I can say that I haven’t noticed anything glaringly different from ALCAR powder from other sources I’ve used in the past, such as any off color or taste. And although it shouldn’t matter, I can appreciate that some work went into its packaging – you don’t get just a plain pouch with a sticker as is often the case.
Overall I’m satisfied with the quality, and the retail price of $26 as of the time of review (November 2022) is about right for the weight. It looks like WHYZ are a relatively new name in powdered supplements and from what I can see they’re hitting all the right notes so far.
