I took this cream with taking Valtrex in pills. I do not know if it helped, but overall my cold sores lasted for about 1 week to 8 days. This cream is soft and prevents chapping and bleeding.

I just received the Super Lysine Plus Cold Sore Treatment. The Active ingredient listed is Menthol .1%, not the Zinc Oxide at 1.2% that is listed in the online product description. This is too pricey for Menthol! Bait and switch???

Excellent product will be keep you from developing a blister, if you put it on me when you start feeling a tingling in your lip. I take the l-lysine 1 gram once or twice a week also, prophylactically. Not the greatest taste, but it works well. A little pricey for the amount you get, but it does seem to work. A bunch of ingredient are included thats individually seem to work well against cold sore blisters.
