I cant have sugar because of my health. I tried Lakanto Sweetener but the Erythritol in it caused me great pain and bloating. So I have changed to Stevia drops for sweetening some of my foods. It does not work for every recipe especially if you are baking because the sweetness bakes out but I do use it often and without any loss of sweetness in these types of recipes:

    Berry smoothies
Cooked fruit jams (these I do not can just cook up and eat within a week)
    Pasta Spaghetti sauce
    Chili
Sweetening Salsa a bit (I like mine a tiny bit sweet)
    Ketchup recipes
    Puddings
    Coleslaw Salad dressing
    Other Salad dressings
    Drinks
    Sweetening the Filling for crepes
    Fruit dip
    Jello from scratch
    Coconut Kefir
    Plain Yogurt
    Shakes
    Sherbert

    Tips I have learned:
    1. It seems that this sweetener goes particularly well with acid type foods.
    2. I never use this in a recipe I bake in the oven, the sweetness bakes out.
    3. When I am cooking on the stove and sweetening something with this such as a jam, sauce or pudding I add it at the very end so it does not cook out.
    5. There are some other things out there that I use that are helpful for baked goods instead of this ‘liquid’ stevia. One is plain monk fruit (not Lakanto brand because it has Erytritol in it and I hurt after eating it), another is Raisin Syrup, Date paste etc. I use one of these or a combination of these for other things such as : Baked beans, baked goods, sweet breads, cakes, brownies etc.
    6. Everyone’s taste buds are different. My son can really taste the aftertaste that stevia has so I use only two or three drops for him. My husband has almost no taste buds that function properly so I can use a quite a bit more for him and I am somewhere in the middle.
    7. As you experiment you will find how many drops you enjoy in these types of foods.
    8. We love the plain for most things but use the chocolate flavored stevia drops for the most phenomenal chocolate puddings, chocolate coconut milk, chocolate shakes etc. We also use the berry flavored for our jams, yogurts that we fill with the berries of our choices and for syrups and drinks. My husband adores the lemon flavored stevia drops and fresh squeezed lemon juice for his lemon-aid and I like the toffee flavor for stovetop homemade caramel sauce.

When these items arrived there were white crystals floating in the bottom of each bottle. The stopper end was also plugged. I warmed each in a tea kettle on the stove until the crystals dissolved. (I did each bottle seperately). When I took the fourth bottle out I took it to the sink, which is 5 steps from the stove. I was holding the bottle on the white part of the stopper just like I had done with the others. Just as I reached the sink the liquid exploded out of the top of the bottle. The bottle did not break. The liquid flew hitting the right side of my face, some on my shirt and my inner forearms from the antecubutal down to mid forearm. Being in the medical profession I knew to ice it. I iced it per our hospital protocol from 8 pm-midnight. Despite having glasses on my right eye bothered me. I washed/rinsed it good every 1/2 hour or so during icing. Next day I did see the eye doctor as it was still bothering. She told me there were 4 spots on my eye that were from the hot liquid. I was given eye drops to use for several days. The eye has improved. I choose not to send them back as returning these tems has become such a process. I know now next time I will return them.

I love that there is no aftertaste with these drops. I have been using them for a little over a year and will definitely continue.

This is the only stevia I have found that I can stand. It does not have a awful aftertaste . Of course, I like sugar better but when I go without sugar this is what I put in my coffee…usually about 10 drops. Thanks , great product.

I have been using this stevia liquid for years! I love it! Doesn’t have an after taste!
I use to buy the 2oz bottle in the grocery store for over $12.00. I get double the amount through Amazon for less!!!!

For most times I need sweetening, I prefer monkfruit extract (too expensive) or sucralose/Splenda (actually mostly for coffee). But this is a good way to sweeten unsweetened fruit juice. I do not experience any stevia aftertaste with fruit juice and I drink this with blueberry juice every day. Though I would not try making lemonade with it – that flavor combination doesn’t work for me.

I also find it acceptable in tea, though YMMV. Just don’t try sweetening coffee with stevia – you’d need so much you would ruin the coffee. I also don’t use it for cereal.

However, there is a somewhat costly brand of chocolate protein powder that uses stevia and it tastes OK. Not great but OK. Seems to me the aftertaste is hidden when you are sweetening something that’s already somewhat bitter – unsweetened chocolate definitely tastes bitter to me. So while I would not use it in chocolate milk or hot chocolate regularly, I would probably use it to make those if I didn’t have anything else.

If all that’s too much, stick with sugar. Stevia in general is not something that simplifies your life. Obviously I have more sweeteners in my kitchen than the average person.

If you are addicted to sugar, nothing else works so you have to live with that. I know, I have a sweet tooth too and used to gorge on the stuff. But the fact is I don’t miss it much anymore.

I follow a keto diet and found this sweetener really helpful. I like its taste.
