I have used this for over 65 years and love it. The main thing is that it works. Some do not like the taste, but I have gotten over that long ago. Now, the taste is like the greatest because it works.

I had the worst cough and worried I had bronchitis again (coughing until my ribs hurt, scared myself when I couldn’t get my breath, etc). My mom recommended this, and since I hate going to the doctor, figured why not. It works! BUT. The taste is horrid. It’s a mixture of castor oil and root beer. So take a swig and then drink something immediately to get rid of the taste unless you want to throw it up lol. It would be 5* except I have to take 1 off for the taste.

Best cough syrup I ever had! It does its job! When I seen it on Amazon, I had to get several of them because I can’t find it in the supermarket.

This Creomulsion cough mix reminds me a lot of the cough medicine I took as a kid. Specifically the old Vicks Formula 44, which was their extra strength cough mixture. Yes the taste of it is rather foul, but like some of the other reviewers here have stated, you get used it. And, in some ways kinda prefer it that way. Especially if you’re still from the old …Medicine has to taste bad to be good school. Whether you can stand the taste of this stuff or not, one thing it does do is work great. It silenced a very aggravating cough that was keeping me awake for 3 nights, and, it lasted for better than 5 hours. Much better than the more expensive Robitussun stuff I had in the house to be sure. It’s not only very effective, but the price of it compared to all the other better known brands available is a downright bargain. It really packs a punch as far as its potency and I highly recommend it. Great stuff…
Footnote: Just for the record, this order of 3 bottles of Creomulsion was originally damaged in transit and returned to Amazon. Amazon was excellent in resending it, but the second order arrived damaged as well. It was poorly packaged in my opinion with the air bubbles simply laid on top of the bottles rather than surrounding them. I decided to keep it anyway and left appropriate packaging feedback. In my opinion this experience should not be a determination in choosing this medicine. It works great and feel my experience was not the norm… : )

I rarely get sick – but then got a cold with cough and had no cough medicine in the house. Went to the internet to find ‘the best cough medicine’ I found Creomulsion – ranked #1. Never heard of it. Before buying this product, I read many of the reviews here with great amusement. Seriously? Tastes like demon spit? Well… just had to try it.
Taste: Yep, tastes like medicine and not the candy-fied stuff either.
Smell: Do not smell it first. Not helpful. Just toss back the dose and get the results.
Effectiveness: Yep. IT WORKS and works much better than anything you can buy off the shelf at your local pharmacy. If your baseline health is quite poor, it might not serve you as well. But then neither will anything else you can get without a prescription.
Here is a suggestion for those who find it hard to get past the taste. The instructions say the adult dose is three teaspoons. Well, that is one tablespoon. Toss it back as one tablespoon, not three teaspoons. And helps to remember this: Philippians 4:13
I especially like the fact that it contains no alcohol.

If you are reading this review, rest assured that I spent way too much time researching cough suppressants and this is one of the best options.
I had a terrible cough that only came on at bedtime and was constantly waking my wife. This did the trick and didn’t leave me with a NyQuil hangover. It was created in 1920 and tastes like it, but it works. I got a couple of nights of good sleep which allowed my body to heal.
Regular Robitussin has a cough suppressant and an expectorant (mucous relief), sometimes I just get a cough and this works great. If you do need an expectorant, the pill form of Mucinex (Guaifenesin)
seems to work much better than the liquid. The Kirkland generic at amazon is a fraction of the cost of Mucinex locally (could not find generic locally).
If you have them both you can take what you need vs taking Robitussin for everything and I get much better results with the Creomulsion and Guaifenesin.

I had been looking for this cough medicine in drug stores but couldn’t find it anywhere. I found it on Amazon, thank goodness! This is the stuff you were given as a kid and a young adult when you were sick, and it worked wonders. Shoot, I think my parents even used this too it’s been around forever. Great stuff, I hope they keep it around!
