Thins & breaks up mucus, but have some liquid on the ready to swallow quickly, because they taste awful. Upside is that they are much cheaper than Mucinex.
Downside besides tasting bad, they are not slow release so you have to take them every 4 hours.

Product worked fine for thinning mucus when I was congested. However, I did have the same reaction that I usually get from small amounts of wheat/gluten, so I suspect one of the inactive ingredients is probably made with wheat starch.
It doesn’t claim to be gluten free, so please do not consider this a negative review. I knew it was a risk when I ordered it. I just thought others might like to know.
