I sporadically get canker sores and this the only product that WORKS. It is important to dry the area of the sore so you can apply the medication and let it dry. I have my hair dryer handy and set to cool / air setting to speed up the process. You may need to be over your bathroom sink since your body naturally keeps the saliva flowing and you do NOT want to get the area moist before medication dries. But if the sore is right in the crease of your check / gums, you will need to do your best and reapply more frequently. Don’t get the Zilactin B, this medication discolors over time and “look” terrible….dark brown. Still works but look yucky.

Cold sores have been a pain point for as long as I can remember. I once came across an ointment while in HK that was manufactured by a British pharmaceutical company. Then, I wasn’t able to get a hold of them anymore. I even went to the length of asking around while in London. If you have cold sores, nothing bothers you more than not having a medication that works for you.
I researched online and found that Zilactin shared the same active ingredient I had in my prior medication. I went online and bought it and it has been my go-to medication for cold-sores. It’s a clear gel, which is great if you need to put it on and go to work . You feel a tingly sensation when you apply it, and to me, that proves it’s working its magic. I tried Abreva before but only Zilactin works for me.

It stings when initially applied but that goes away within minutes. Within three days, my admittedly mild case of multiple fever blisters had healed.

I first began using this product years ago on the advice of my dentist. It works swiftly. Applied at the first “tingle” or sign of a cold sore, the cold sore never surfaces. Carry it in my make up bag!
